Ive seen this before but got a chance to refresh my memory the other night when it came on again. The concept behind this movie is just funny as hell to me. More so just the brutal honesty displayed throughout the movie is hilarious. A lot of things that people think but subsitute something nice to say instead. Well they hold no punches throughout this movie and I was in stitches the entire time.

Sympathy for Lady Vengeance
Holy shit. That's all I can say about this movie. Definitely one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. Brutal as hell though, possibly even more so than Old Boy and that's really saying something.

I really want to Mr. Vengeance as well but Netflix keeps giving me and error message for that movie.

Saw three movies in he last few days.

First was Thor. Pretty decent superhero flick.

Next was the newest Pirates movie. Okay I guess, not worth the price I paid to see it.

And I just now finally saw Red. Definitely glad that I waited to Netflix that one. It was far better watching with a few buddies in my basement than it would have in a movie theater. Plus, this way it was free, which is always a plus.

I finally got around to seeing Smokin' Aces 2.

sure it wasn't as great as the first one but it wasn't bad. By the time they got to the end with all of the little mini plot twists it all came together nicely.

Lady Vengeance is pretty meh for me. Too much Korean melodramatics.

Mr. Vengeance is the best of the bunch.

I saw the lovely bones last night. I am not much of a Peter Jackson fan, but this movie was great.

I really like that one, too! I was sold on watching the movie when I discovered Stanley Tucci was in it; I find him completely delightful. I read the book in high school because someone gave me a copy, and actually liked the film adaptation better than the book in some ways.

Then again, there was one part of the book, a tiny piece, which was not included in the film, and kind of upset me because it was actually part of the plot.

Spoiler for Spoiler About Book / Movie Difference:
In the book, Susie says:

"How to Commit the Perfect Murder" was an old game in heaven. I always chose the icicle: the weapon melts away."

Which was actually one of the lines that most stuck out to me in the book. With Harvey's means of demise, it seems that the line's inclusion would have been good for the plot, and not just filler. It would have shed a little more light on how the icicle was more karmically relevant, in my opinion.

Really? I thought Winslet and Lynskey both did a fantastic job.

Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance
I'm going to have to disagree with Il Duce's assessment that this was the best of the revenge triology, it was definitely my least favorite of the three. Still very good though.

ok what don't you like about it? the plot is infinitely more intricate than the other two in the trilogy

and I love the way how the movies twists and turns our sympathies with each of the major characters

and the violence is beautiful, not just there for fuck's sake like Oldboy
