I think Stacey Peralta has a real knack for documentaries. Dogtown was awesome also. You should check out Endless Summer its a riot because its done in a 70's manner with narrative and while somewhat comical its very well done.

I saw Looper yesterday, knowing nothing about the movie beforehand, only that my friend recommended it because she also likes science fiction/action movies with interesting plots. I felt the violent scenes were shot very well, the plot was fascinating and unfolded in directions I didn't expect, the future setting and acting were believable (and I didn't even recognize Bruce Willis at first), plus I liked the movie's ethical questions and message, which is almost Buddhist. The conclusion was abrupt, but I felt that was part of the movie's beauty. The trailer gives a lot a way, but if you want a taste of the movie to see if it might be your thing, then I feel the trailer is a good one because the mood closely matches that of the whole movie. Intense. LOOPER - Official Trailer - In Theaters 9/28 - YouTube

Well I wasn't expecting much from this at all but I am not a massive fan of the original. I like it but it's not in my DVD collection which says something. I thought the remake would be a kid friendly re-hash but it was much more adult orientated which is a definite plus. David Tenant is hilarious though and the banter between him and his girlfriend is so good, Colin Farrell puts in a decent performance and there are a couple of really good action scenes. A mini triumph and one of the better remakes that has come out over the past few years.

What do you guys think about banning posters in this thread? It really makes me have to scroll a hell of a lot, if I'm interested by a description I pretty much always look up the info on my own.

I'd be more for a general guideline that people mention the movie they write about in text in case those posters and stuff don't show for everyone reading (happens frequently).

I think so long as people don't go overboard with the picture size we should be fine. If you want to use a big one you can use spoiler tags to help the page load faster. As far as not all the pictures showing up, don't use posters from IMDB, you have to already have the image loaded in your cache for it to show. That seems to be the major site that's giving us problems.
