It's Western Week in film class! I liked Rio Bravo a whole lot. Really interesting plot.

I'd be so bored. For some reason American history is just kind of dull to me. The Civil War is kind of interesting, but European wars from that same period capture my interest far more. And cowboys just make me yawn. I mean, Unforgiven was cool, but only because it kind of transcended your average cowboy movie. But I've just never gotten the appeal of Clint Eastwood or John Wayne westerns, or Young Guns, etc.

I totally agree. Very glad it's only a week each semester. I mean I enjoy a few, but I think it's mainly a kitsch interest because I know so little about them combined with a sort of nostalgia factor.
I wouldn't put down any genre, just like with music, and I'm sure there's hundreds of interesting things that could be done with it.

I found that film incredibly hard to get through. If I didn't think Cassey Affleck weren't so damned fine at the time I probably wouldn't have made it. But now he just looks like Billy Joe and I laugh a little every time I start thinking about whether or not he's attractive.

Superficiality more or less aside the acting in that movie was great and the cinematography/settings were beautiful but it was sooooooooooooooooo slow. So. God. Damn. Slow. Like watching a snail compete in a marathon in slow motion.

Bag of arse. What do u expect from a child of the 80's? A clinical dissection of the films shortcomings?.... some idiot decided to remake a classic. Enough said.

Watched this last night. Not the best of the brothers but had quite a few moments where I was glad I wasn't in the process of taking a drink of anything.

And my lord, Vanessa Angel freaking smolders.

Watched Nebraska last night, loved it. It has a very heavy Coen bros vibe and that's definitely a good thing. It's on Netflix so you have no excuse.
