Yup, Hathaway's darkest moment. I loved the film quite a bit though, especially the water planet. Those waves were awesome in theatres.

The love speech was totally uneccesary.

I don't know what the writers were thinking with that one. If you got your inspiration for a scene from an episode of Yu-Gi-Oh, then perhaps you should go back to the drawing board.

Indeed. I thought some of the dialogue was a little lazy too. 'Were you thinking about the crash daddy?' They could have introduced that backstory a little better. It's a great film but I have to admit that it's pretty easy to poke holes in.

Hell no. I was too busy trying to wrap around how terrible of a father Coop is. Good person. Kind of a bad dad. The end sealed it. Without spoiling it, I'll let this scene from Dumb and Dumber basically sum up the end for me.

Heat - (1995)

Re-watched this one recently while I was clearing out some old VHS tapes from my collection. The bank heist scene is probably my second all-time favorite after the bank heist scene in 'The Wild Bunch.'

I own Heat on Blu-Ray. Great movie. Love the diner scene with DeNiro and Pacino. Also love the fact they shot it live using two cameras instead of doing it the hack way they usually shoot those types of scenes - one guy recites all of his lines, then the other guy does all his, and then they cut and paste them together.

Mann wanted to catch the vibe of them talking in real time.

Watched this last night on Netflix. I'm a huge Ebert fan and it's terrible what the guy went through his last few years. To see how positive and funny he remained right up till the end was pretty amazing. Also really insightful seeing the complete story of the very unique relationship he and Siskel had. Total love / hate.

Anyway, this is really, really well made and doesn't pull any punches at all.

I watched Prometheus for the first time, and that was pretty nice.

Faust. It was really interesting to see a movie from the 20s that actually had a genuinely creepy atmosphere and some effects.
