What's The Latest Film You Have Seen?

^ There's a graphic novel that was written alongside the movie that actually clarifies things a great bit. Some things that aren't made clear: the giant glass sphere is a spaceship, because our protagonist has found the tree of life he is able to undertake a trip to Xibalba. The story of the scientist and the astronaut can be seen as continuous, although I don't think that's necessary. The story of the conquistador is obviously a metaphor.

The Fountain is an absolutely stunning film and definitely gets better with each viewing.

Alien 3
I just saw this movie yesterday for the first time since 1992. For a long time I really hated this movie and thought it was the absolute worst of the Alien franchise, but having seen it again now I've pretty much reversed my opinion. It's not quite as good as the first two, but it's a solid movie that works well with the other movies while retaining a unique feel all its own.

Great movie!

I would have loved to have seen the orignal director Vincent Wards version. It would have really been something: HorrorLair - Alien 3 Script by John Fasano and Vincent Ward. If you can manage to find it check out his film The Navigator. Highly unusual and inventive.

Gah! Netflix doesn't have it. Sounds interesting though. I'll keep my eye out for it.

Goodbye Lenin.

In German, with no subtitles, my bf was summarizing what was going on sparatically, so the little bit I understood made it seem like a good movie, but i'm still unsure.

oh good, when I get the chance I'll watch it with English subtitles. I somehow think i'll enjoy it a lot more. Don't know why though....

I live right by the library in my town so I often check out DVDs there...I found this BBC serial called State of Play that I had never heard of...I watched the first 5 hours yesterday and it was top notch. God I love the BBC. I guess there is an American film in the works which will have Ben Affleck in it I think in the David Morrissey part...I am sure it will be ruined...I need to check out more Paul Abbott stuff.
