I ****ed loved Suicide Squad for what it was.
I'd probably give it a 8/10 but I'm definitely going to go see it two more times in theaters. I really didn't want to see it in 3D yesterday but it was the only time that was available when I had free time. Just don't watch it in 3D and you'll be fine. What didn't you like about it, YD?

10 Cloverfield Lane
What a great movie. So much more than I expected based on what seemed like a minimal premise. All three leads were fantastic. Goodman and especially Winstead knocked it out of the park. I've been a big fan of Winstead for years now but she's taken it to a whole other level with her work here. Love the tie in at the end. Very well handled. 5 stars. Unique, original, extremely well acted and filmed, and just plain entertaining.

The tie in at the end seemed like it was a last minute decision. It was just tacked on there. Not very well handled imo.
It was definitely an afterthought.

My issues with Suicide Squad:
From the very beginning it comes across as a rushed mess. It's an origin scene with a 70's rock song recycled five times before we actually get into the story. There's way too many characters and the only one that gets even remotely fleshed out is Will Smith. The action scenes were trash. Jared Leto did well but got basically no screentime. The plot was predictable and the villains were awful and looked comically bad. There were several characters that could have been cut from the movie completely and it wouldn't change a thing. Killer Croc was only there to make terrible jokes. Harley was oversexualized and had no substance and was basically a bastardization of the great character from Batman TAS and the Arkham games. Batman was thrown into the movie for 2 stupid scenes where he does nothing simply so that they could say he was in it. The Flash cameo was cheap and pointless. The faceless henchmen get shot at by an entire military squadron and nothing happens to them, meanwhile Harley kills them by the dozen with a baseball bat. I could keep going but man I just disliked a whole lot about it. Positives include some of the performances and humor but that's about it

I've been avoiding all these Suicide Squad posts since I haven't seen the movie yet and have been waiting for it like a child for Christmas for the better part of a year at least, so could you all put anything even approaching a spoiler in spoiler tags? I don't even want to click on this thread and accidentally read something I didn't want to see (not that I would know if you've been dropping spoilers anyway). Have a heart.
