You should just watch his other movies tbh. Edipo Re and The Gospel According to St. Matthew are brilliant.

This movie deserves a mention in the DSM because if it ever happened in real life, I would just point at this movie and say that Nicolas Pisce told you so. It really is a fascinating character study that could have been fleshed out a little better, but was still excellent on its own.

This was such a great horror film that I'm not sure if I ever want to watch it again. 5/5.
So I actually watched a movie for the first time in a while.. Crazy, huh?

I wouldn't call this a horror movie, but I agree with your review otherwise. It was good enough to recommend and watch again, but I don't think a second viewing would add much to the experience. It was filmed concisely, which I liked. I didn't find myself creeped out or bothered at any point. I love these kinds of stories.

Spoiler for huh?:
I still don't understand how the guy that killed her mom was captured by Father. That entire scene confused the hell out of me. I was half asleep when I watched this, and rewound just to watch it again. It goes from Mother being beaten in the bathtub to Father shutting the door and just kinda staring. The next thing you know the guy is being dragged on a tarp into the barn.. Did I miss something?
