I haven't seen Snowpiercer. Or The Host for that matter.

Husbands & Wives (Woody Allen, 1992)

It's not the first time I've mentioned his movies in here, so it's no secret that I'm very into them. I intend to watch all 50+ films, shorts and segments he's made and so far, at more than halfways through, I have yet to watch one that I didn't like at least a little.

Husbands & Wives is pretty much Allen doing what he does best. It's pretty much what you expect from him: A bunch of middle aged New Yorkers talking about relationships and exhibiting various human flaws, going through various relationship shakeups, midlife crises and other things that life throws at you. I'm a sucker for the dialogue in these movies and this one really had some interesting characters.

It's going to be a hard sell for anyone who dislikes Allen (as many do), because it's exactly what you would expect in every way.
I'd say it's one of his better films.

I think The Purple Rose of Cairo is my favourite of his. Reflexive films really get me off.

On second thought Zelig might be his best.

I haven't watched either yet, but I might get Zelig for my birthday in a month.
It has an interesting premise, so I look forward to it.

There's definitely something about a lot of his movies that leave me in a very special mood after I've watched them. I've spent much of this evening listening to music while walking in circles in my apartment, thinking about my life.

It is pretty stupid

But the Japs really know how to tug on my heart strings

That sounds weird and I dunno if I used this expression correctly

I went into Sleight pretty blind beyond a trailer that I had long forgotten about. It ended up surprising me and I can't really talk about it too much without spoiling it. General premise is about a street magician that is taking vare of his younger sister because their parents died. He also hustles at night for a drug dealer. It is always fun to see Dule Hill in an aggressive role like this. It goes against the goofy character he played on Psych for years.

Japan wins solely on the momentum of Tetsuo and Kurosawa (of course).
