I hate popcorn though

I did once have a bottle of mineral water to drink as I was hungover! i know i'm in the minority on this. Many people make this an integral part of the cinema experience. I'm just a tight fisted englishman who would rather spend the £3.50 worth of popcorn on a pint when I get out!

if i ever go to the cinema now I go to the Odeon multiplex/chav fortress and fork out for 'the Gallery', where the seats are so huge and everyone is so far apart you can do whatever the hell you like. And the popcorn, nachos and drinks are 'free'

Hate crowded theatres. Janszoon you have my deepest condolences for the coke incident but...

also it's worth finding out where your nearest indie is, they usually have really late showings of good films where nobody attends. I saw Dig! in an empty theatre at midnight once, crappy seats, portable heater keeping you warm, utter bliss

That Gallery thing you're talking about sounds similar to something a movie theater by my parents has that's called "Lux". It's a balcony area above the peons in the regular part of the theater where you get to sit in a big cushy leather seats and you can order dinner and drinks from waitresses that come around. I've only been to it once, when I saw Gran Turino, but it was kind of cool.
