Sorry One of my 'can't be bothered to trawl through every post' days.

Watch Ladybird Ladybird and prepare for the unflinching raw power of a brilliant movie.

i might be getting the title wrong but 'My Beautiful Launderette', i remember it cropping up - important in the canon of gay cinema in your books? Think it was a ways after Bogarde's time still...

I saw it yonks ago, it is pretty raw and powerful. I need to rewatch it but we also discussed my problem with Loach...

I've seen it, nice flick... I prefer Maurice as far as Brit gay films are concerned...

i want to see that, would i like it? Just caught one of the segments from the 80's Twilight Zone: the Movie on TV, the one with the omnipotent kid. If you haven't seen this you oughta, even if the final segment is soppy and a huge anti-climax. Hell the original 60's TV show had some great episodes with the Shat (William Shatner). Don't watch this if you are scared of flying...

Twilight Zone: The Movie is unwatchable for me due to the death of Vic Morrow on set and Spielbergs useless contribution

As for The Company of Wolves- it's an interesting film that takes an age to get going but the subtext is brilliant and superbly realised. It makes you feel guilty being male a little I think. Female teenagers should love it.
