Although I like most of Cusack's stuff, including High Fidelity, after my viewing of this I feel Grosse Pointe Blank is probably the best thing he's ever starred in - romance, dark humor, violence, casting choice...only Tarantino's "True Romance" has ever blended these elements so darn well together in comparison.

Entertaining wank at least :)

Perhaps a bit over the top (okay, way over) but I liked it!

I agree, though I liked the first one better. Just a pure adrenalin rush. The second had more slow parts, and wasn't really necessary after the first. But it was still entertaining, even if stupid.

And a great soundtrack by Mike Patton! :thumb:

I agree with you 100%, it also has a wicked sound track.

It was so obvious they were just having fun with the script taking it in all sorts of silly directions - like they did with the first. The public sex at the race track, the weird Godzilla fight in the powerplant, the *** club gang, the damned head in the tank .. :p:

Edit: Thought I save myself a double post.

They're showing right now on TV The Truman Show. I love that movie, I haven't watched it since I was 8 years-old!!
Such a blast from the past that one.

it is great, the girl in that is the spitting image of my first crush so i always end up in a crumpled heap watching that movie. despite jim carrey's obnoxious teeth (which are appropriate in this setting anyway)

RE Grosse Point Blank: he even gets into a shoot-out with an overweight-but-still-threatening Dan Ackroyd! what's not to like? apart from Minnie f*ckin Driver?

Aww sh*t, I'm sorry I didn't warn you earlier but no, it's freaking awful.

They weren't different perspectives, they were different scenarios. Which I always thought was a really awesome concept, if you changed one little thing it would lead to a new chain of events and a different outcome, I always thought that was vert cool and I thought overall the film was successful at making that concept work.

This was recommended to me by a friend of mine after a discussion about Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and I found that it's similar in it's abstract themes and playful romantic-ish tones. I thought it was fantastic; I'll definitely be watching it again.
