I've just got back from seeing it, overall it was pretty impressive. Regarding the storyline it was kinda somewhere between the original Alice In Wonderland and American McGee's Alice, but it was pretty much Burton's own twisted version. The storyline could have been a little bit better though but it was still great. Depp was excellent as the Mad Hatter, i don't think anyone could have done it better, and Helena Bonham Carter was well cast as the Red Queen.

The 3D visuals were great though but they did make parts of it seem unrealistic at times, especially when she's in the normal world at the beginning, but the 3D is used to great effect in wonderland. I do agree with Noise though that the 3D can make things seem a little out of focus at times but if you have glasses bring them along as well as your 3D glasses and it won't be too bad.
Overall a really great film. Go see!

Terribly po faced so it doesn't make the so bad it's good type of film that I like BUT BUT I have this horrible suspicion I may rewatch it when I'm drunk sometime for a laugh. Only cost a £1 anyhow.

One from good old Hanif Kureishi here, and definitely a very brave film for 1985, reversing social stereotypes (sexual, political, racial etc) as well as it does. Just about every lead role is brilliantly executed too. I did spot a plothole or two, but the the rest of the film more than makes up for all that.

That's one film I haven't got around to ever watching despite it being on T.V a lot and the generally favourable reviews of it. A big gap on my movie C.V.

Took me a while to get round to this one too. I only actually watched it because one of my lecturers told me to (regarding identity politics in movies, which this film is the perfect example of). Definitely a must-see for anyone who hasn't.

What's eating Gilbert Grape?

Really well acted, Johnny and Di Caprio are just sensational.

Decent movie.
