Music Banter - What's The Latest Film You Have Seen?

i think i've commented on somebody's viewing of GPB in this thread about fifty times and said exactly the same thing each time, but hell i'll say it again.
john cusack has his moments, but his speciality is portraying john cusack, sometimes he's loveable other times not, he's alright in this.
Minnie %^$&£ Driver, however, gets on my tits

Dan Ackroyd owns. Hank Azaria's in it too, and the fight scenes are surprisingly gritty aren't they? Alright let's never speak of this again

You did comment on it a week ago, when Anteater watched that same movie ... we didn't even get to slightly forget what you said then lol

yeah it works best as an after-the-fact, cheapo VHS purchase, it's a bit cult-y

Alan Arkin was by the far the best thing in this movie. Typical rites of passage everyone loves life cliched stuff. The dance at the end was funny but it won't get a repeat viewing.

Well that's disappointing. I take it you weren't taken (lol) by the soundtrack either?

Mesmerizing performances and interaction between Hayworth and Ford. I didn't even care what it was about, it was just a pleasure to watch them.

Couldn't really get into it for some reason. I was really put off by the picture perfect. 50's display of domestic life. It was kind of awkward seeing him play the perfect husband. I'm thinking Ford is much better playing bad guys. Which brings me to this fucking masterpiece:

Excellent thriller, lots of psychological drama (the scene in the hotel room was immense), Ford dominates every scene but Helfin was also perfectly cast as the reluctant hero.

Not nearly as impressive as The Wild Bunch or Straw Dogs, but I guess the violence sort of gets old if you've seen more than one of his films.

No the soundtrack didn't do much for me. For a rites of passage movie (despite dealing with older characters) I much prefer The Station Agent. Superb U.S indie film.

As for your sojourn into Noir I heartily suggest The Asphalt Jungle or Key Largo. Brilliant films.

2012. Special effects were great, but most of the time it was way over the top...too much! As for the script, it was just trying to hard :S
