I quite enjoyed it, one of my good friends enjoyed it so much that she had the lyrics memorized in like a day and a half, which was pretty impressive, so no I didn't think it was as stupid as ****.

I probably won't be seeing that movie with the review that you just gave it. Pretty brutal man.

The lost Oliver Stone film (PLATOON/WORLD TRADE CENTRE). This small intimate low budget film was based on a stage play which in turn was loosely based on the story of talk show host Alan Berg who was shot dead by white supremacists in 1984. Eric Bogosian (who also co-wrote) delivers a tour-de-force as the radio talk show host whose battle with his listeners and his own tortured soul descends into tragedy. Mainly shot superbly within the confines of a radio studio, the film touches upon many themes-loneliness, madness, love, self loathing and the transient notion of celebrity. I first saw it over ten years ago and loved it. I got another chance to see it tonight and it still blew me away. If you are looking for something that little more cerebral, watch TALK RADIO.

Redacted: brutal honesty
 

I recently saw the Brian De Palma flick Redacted, which is based almost directly off of events that occurred during the Iraq War.
I hear it's generally a rule of Hollywood that to play a bad guy on screen, you have to be a pretty good guy in real life. I think it's that to be seen in that light, people who are actually mean don't want to be seen in that light, whereas good honest people want to be genuine, and want to let the world know that there are evils out there.
The 2 main characters in this movie are 2 guys you just love to hate. They exemplify American machoism as they rave about getting into a 14 year old Iraqois virgin panties. The only problem is that they have to break into her house, murder her family, then rape her, then burn her body. The actors pull this off, seemingly without any remorse. You can hardly believe that anyone could commit these crimes without being under great stress, and experiencing some sort of dementia, but they do it all with smiles on their faces. So to me, this wasn't just a war biopic. It was a telling of the stress of war in general to men, but also a story of brutal American nature. We will take what we want, and if you don't like it. we will use force.

Saw transformers last night, great effects as promised. The plot wasn't exactly the thickest but ****, it's transformers. They definitely did better than what I was expecting.


This still remains one of my favorite films of all time. Good shout mate.

I went out and bought The Odd Couple the other night, having always heard it's a great comedy, and being a big Simpsons fan, I heard that the Lemmon/Matthau relationship was the basis for the Simpson/Flanders relationship, so i had to check it out.
I was pleasantly surprised by how good the acting was, and how real they portrayed the characters. I've never been big on old school comedy. I don't get into 3 stooges, or Mash, or really anything, but I've got to say I really enjoyed this movie, it was just laugh-a-minute stuff, and it reminds you more of comedies today, with it's complete honesty. Which also makes you realize it had to have been a big inspiration for more of the comedies today.

I went to see Juno with my palz last weekend. It was enjoyable :)

i saw the Simpsons Movie finally cuz we got the DVD. It was fairly funny, i enjoyed it:)
