I mean, yeah, I enjoy movies from my time more. A lot of times the low qualityness of old movies makes them feel awkward...

in general, i think film-making has evolved so far that it makes watching really old ones dull.

If we apply this ridiculous statement to any art form, like painting, that would make, for example, Leonardo da Vinci's paintings dull. I mean they're really old. See what I did here.

apples and oranges. i didn't apply it to any art form. how many technological advances in the field of painting have there been recently? and the genesis of film was a tad later as well. not to mention how much more complex they are.

I like watching old movies for the stylistic differences. It's often easy to spot if a movie was made a while ago, and sometimes I'm in the mood for that. But usually it's just a really good movie.

It's just that they're complementary, and in a way Cinema is a extension to all the other forms of Art. Putting away a whole decade, which also the most revolutionary decade in Cinema History and the one that has made what cinema is now, and the cinema you love so much, is very much pure ignorance.

90s and 00s cinema didn't pop out from nowhere, and neither did Cinema. AND DON'T YOU EVER DISREGARD PAINTING IN THAT MANNER!!

i never discounted decades at a time. i simply said most older films i have seen usually bore me. noted exceptions: one flew over the cuckoo's nest and dr. strangelove.
