I certainly agree that Tarantino makes better movies, but I still think Machete looks pretty entertaining.

probably one of the best films i've ever seen, loved it from beginning to end. you really feel for the aliens in this film and it really speaks volumes about people in general.

Certainly didn't dislike it but the pace was a little slow in places and it was much more tender in parts than I thought it would be. Fiennes is so hammy it's hard not to like his role and Farrell was decent reminding us that he is a good actor now he's moving away from making cliched Hollywood fare and yes, it does make me want to visit Bruges 3.5/5

In Bruges is hilarious. I loved the midget.

If you liked that, make sure you watch Alan Clarke's the Firm as soon as possible - much better film if we're talking ones about football fans beating each other up, in my eyes anyway.

Agreed, but also a bitch to find, even if you're using the internet.

Idiocracy: 5/10. Poor acting and predictable and flat jokes, but it was not without its moments.

Agreed but then The Firm is lo fi compared to Green Street and the minutiae of daily working class life that Alan Clarke did so brilliantly may not appeal to everyone and something more dynamic may be required.

I.D is a seriously underated British Football hooligan movie but they STILL haven't released a version with the film in the correct ratio and the pan and scan DVD transfer is absolutely horrible

I still haven't seen ID despite coming across the name quite often lately, but so long as it's better than the Football Factory, it'll do me fine! Talking of Nick Love, he remade the Firm fairly recently too - I'm sure it's nowhere near as good as Clarke's original, but I may just go see it out of boredom someday for a giggle.

But, as I say, the original Firm is one of independant British cinema's best products for me. Along with Made In Britain, it's my favourite film about the more violent areas of the British working class by a mile. Can see how both films could lack the same appeal that Green Street might have though.
