Jason Statham's noggin would taste like chlorine. Don't you know swimmers/glorified stuntmen carry stupid diseases?

I still haven't watched Come and See incidentally. I've spent the afternoon making an idiot of myself expounding Zeitgeist: Addendum to people but then realising how ridiculous most of it looks in the cold light of open conversation. Godamnit.

I have a very important anouncement to make.

Ladies and gentlemen. I have had a revelation. I had it yesterday when I went to see I Love You Man, I had this revelation upon seeing the first trailer.

May 22, 2009.

Remember that date because that's when the greatest tragedy of all time will take place on American soil. I am of course, talking about the release of Dance Flick.

I watched the trailer to this and my jaw ****ing dropped, it looks like it will without a doubt be the worst ****ing movie ever made.

And yeah, it's the ****ing Wayans brothers again, there's like 20 of them now, they're ****ing worse than the Gremlins.

I'm not exagerating, this is not to be taken lightly, this movie will inspire suicides.

YouTube - Dance Flick - Trailer 1 (HD) (Official Trailer) (2009)

I have finally lost all faith in humanity.

Surell 03-31-2009 12:53 AM

Yeah it looked horrible, but it looks better than the Scary Movie series.

No way.

Way way worse than all of them, if THOSE were the funniest moments they could pick out for the trailer, and this was way more excruciating than the trailers for Scary Movie 4, Date Movie, Epic Movie, Superhero Movie, Disaster Movie and Meet the Spartans, then god help us all if any poor soul watches this thing in it's entirety.

Well made Italian gangster film that touched upon many political situations within Italy that spoilt my enjoyment of the film but only because my knowledge of the political turmoil in the 80's is sadly lacking. i wouldn't watch it again to be fair as there was nothing truly outstanding but it was solid enough.

Now the (bla blah blaahsh) Movies look much worse than this does. I'm not saying I'm gonna see this, but it looks like an improvement on their behalf. They've gone from below shit to shit.

I like the concept but jeez, do I dislike the early 90s indie look and amateur acting. I loved Linklater's rant about alternate realities in the beginning though. 5/10

Edit: Oh yeah, this is the second film I've seen set in Texas with no real southern accent (Dazed and confused being the first). Is it because it's set in a bigger city? It was a bit confuzzling.

boo boo 04-01-2009 04:05 AM

These films focus on youth.

Most young people in America these days, scenesters especially, don't really have accents, most young people where I live (in Tennessee, close to Memphis) don't have southern accents. I'm one of the unfortunate few that do.

I think it's because we pay more attention now to television and movies than we do our parents.

Saturnine 04-01-2009 04:26 AM

In the cinema: Watchmen. Loved it.
On DVD: Tropic Thunder. Not as good as I anticipated, but still pretty funny.

DMBassDude 04-01-2009 08:21 PM

The Onion Movie. It was based on the newspaper. was pretty hilarious lol

SydMM 04-01-2009 08:26 PM

Quarantine. I'm a lil scared right now (Lmfao) but the movie wasn't all that great. Very predictable.

kthedrummer 04-01-2009 08:32 PM

I just watched Rachel Getting Married and Milk...both were great...Rachel Getting Married really captured the awkwardness of being an addict and trying to relate to your family.

Both movies are set in Austin and by the same director so the reason for the lack of distinctly Texas accents was probably the same for both: actors who are not native Texans. Being a big college town and the state capitol, I'm sure Austin has lots of people from various places. If Linklater was just using local talent for Slacker they would probably have been a mixed bag as far as where they came from originally. In the case of Dazed and Confused you have a bunch of professional actors like Ben Afleck who aren't from Texas at all.

I'm pretty much with you on what you said about the movie. It's not a bad movie but I did find it a little tedious after a while. He basically did the same thing later on with Waking Life but I thought that was a much better movie.

glutoro 04-01-2009 08:59 PM

I watched Mirrors last night.. it had the potential to be a great movie.. but then it wasn't.

The movie didn't scare me but I liked it regardless.

djchameleon 04-03-2009 01:21 AM

Quarantine was so awful.....just watch Rec and read the subtitles

In Theater: Watchmen....I don't know how people can walk away from that movie and say it was crap.
On DVD: Transporter 3....actually I have to watch it again...I fell asleep during the first 30mins ><

FireInCairo 04-03-2009 04:34 AM

soundofsilver 04-03-2009 07:29 AM

I just bought two of the newest afterdark horrorfest movies. Cant wait to watch them, but I doubt they'll scare me, so that kinda bums me out. And Im watching Pink Floyd's Pulse (1994 concert), it really makes me want to watch The Wall, but my friend borrowed it from me and hasnt brought it back yet. ='[

Working through my 5 disc Bladerunner set and finally got around to watching the documentary. All three and a half hours of it! Excellent watch.

glutoro 04-03-2009 12:40 PM

Watched Gardens of the Night, the other night it was really well done. The only part of the movie I didn't like was the ending. It was a hard movie to watch as the story line is about a kidnapped young girl that gets turned into some sort of a sex slave and grows up to be a hooker but a good person. The Little girl in the movie must have been so confused playing a character that gets molested and rapped. If I were a parent I would never want to put that into my childs head.

All I give that movie a 7.5/10 :o) Imdb.com gives it about 6.9/10

I also would recommend this movie to anyone that's had problems like hers in the movie, or has had a friend or family member who went through something like this.. as it may help the understanding level between you and whomever.

Yes, he is a bit annoying in this movie but you end up feeling sorry for him as he confronts all these movie critics that have said all these terrible things about him. The first half of the film is about the title, performers more so comedians dealing with hecklers how they handle them and feel about them, the second half is about critics more so film critics that rather than make constructive criticism insult and make personal attacks on the actors and directors. Its a good watch. And if you ever don’t a performance and had to deal with a heckler, you know exactly where this movie is coming from. There also plenty of funny moments. And at one point in the film Jamie Kennedy comes face to face with a awful critic who insults him calling him things such as a ‘rape baby’. At the end of all this Jamie Kennedy is almost in tears by how big of an ******* this guy is.

Molecules 04-03-2009 09:57 PM

lol. critics take themselves too seriously, they're all bitter because deep down they know they'd be the first against the wall for being totally useless. On the other hand we need to keep some of them, probably. What to do, what to do.

I'll admit if I review something i go straight for the personal attacks, it's a lot more fun/therapeutic

5 Disc? So that's every version right?

Which is the best version in your opinion?

I'm only onto the second disc but i always hated the version with the voicover and happy ending. It's not exactly a hard film to understand so adding that voiceover is an insult to intelligence.

The only reason I fell asleep watching Transporter 3 was because I was tired not because the movie bored me to tears and I fell asleep.

I have two movies I've been trying to watch all weekend but with no luck lol. Maybe tonight.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Seta sings the blues.
