actually i agree with 100%....i would not ever watch a movie hell bent on over stimulation while in that state of mind....actually i would never watch a movie in that state of mind....kind of ruins the idea of taking psychedelics

however i feel that if this was to gain popularity (which it likely won't) it would become the "cool" movie to watch while trippin'

saw Black Swan again. Really good still, definitely my favorite film of 2010.

127 Hours

excellent film. I'm surprised it was good as it was, considering it was all just about his experience being stuck and his thoughts. a lot of it was pretty grisly, but most of it was also spellbinding.

500 Days of Summer.

I watched this once before on a train and thought it was complete and utter gash, I put that down to not really paying much attention though. Then my friend said it's weird that I didn't like it, so she prompted me to watch it again, which I did last night. Still wouldn't say I favoured it at all but it wasn't as bad as the first time I saw it, there are some really charming scenes which I enjoyed (like the lift scene when he's listening to The Smiths and she noticed) and of course one of the first scenes where he has a Doolittle/Psychocandy poster/vinyl on his wall :3. All in all it was just extremely average which I expected, and it's a good job Zooey is easy on the eye because she's an absolutely dreadful actress in everything she's been in.

3/5

Meh. It was on Channel 4 a few hours back, I like Robert Downey Jr, so what the hell.

As for the film, it was really...ok. Not bad, not particularly good. Nice effects, cool to see Jeff Bridges a) bald and b) playing a bad guy, Downey Jr was pretty good in the lead role too. The action was probably a bit OTT but, hey, it was a fun movie.

I enjoyed the performances in that film, however I found the action sequence at the end and the premise of the film's villain to be a bit dull, and also a bit stupid.

Before I get the usual Tarantino fanboys on my back daring to criticise one of his films (8.5 on IMDB wtf?), I watch every single film without any prejudice and just say what I think and I think it's yet another forgettable film the walking chin has dealt out since Kill Bill vol 1 (oh and well done Tarantino for getting in your foot fetish shot and being so post modern as to put a David Bowie track in a film set in the 40's yes I know it's a homage- we get it. You love movies, now write and direct something with substance like your first two movies FFS).

Christoph Waltz was damn good in it though. Sinister and comedic.
I actually agree with you on several points. It is too long and not very cohesive. But the awesomeness of Brad Pitt and the Basterds along with Waltz's character is enough for me to really love it. And how can you praise Waltz but not claim to have liked his character?

As far as the soundtrack, someone actually asked me about it and I told them I didn't even notice it. I guess there is one after all...
Thanks for the spoiler

For about the tenth time and it is still a great film. Full of plotholes but still eminently watchable.
