I saw 30 Days of Night after reading the comic and was completely disappointed. They left a lot out, combining some characters and leaving other out completely, and I don't think they portrayed the vampires well at all. Could have been a lot better.

Very enjoyable with excellent cinematography and mise en scene. Deserves another viewing to catch all the nuances.

It is certainly less linear than Oldboy and not as confrontational but it is technically superb and once you get over the films disjointed first half it is extremely rewarding.
