What's The Latest Film You Have Seen?

Considering I didn't find the film particularly interesting, but rather just an overlong, yet still entertaining series of Tarantino-esque, mildly shocking scenes, I found the most shocking scene, with Samuel L. Jackson getting his... well, you know... to be the most entertaining. Sam's facial expressions were obviously the highlight of the scene, and therefore the movie.

Well, actually, this film is less interesting than many other ones, but not bad. However, I saw it with my boyfriend and a friend of ours. The best moment while seeing the film was when I looked at their shocked faces while seeing that scene. I think I was the only one who found it funny.

I don't think any part of this movie was really shocking. Tarantino was trying too hard for it to be anything other than unintentionally funny. The more shocking the more hilarious. And Jackson 100% sold that aspect more than any other actor in the movie.

It's not so much that I've just seen it, but I've seen it a couple times and seen John Carpenter mentioned more times than God, but no matter how many times I see people praise Halloween, I never see anyone consider the possibility that perhaps, just perhaps, the reason someone so perfectly realized the idea of a perfect sociopath might be because the director was someone who (allegedly) bludgeoned a man to death.

Maybe John Carpenter is innocent of the murder of Bob Crane, but watching Halloween still still feels like listening to the music of Varg Vikerness, where maybe, just maybe, you feel like you're experiencing the utter emptiness of a dead soul.

That of course doesn't take anything away from the movie, cause if Halloween was legitimately the work of a sexual sadist psychopath, then it would only make it that much more a work of art.

TL;DR Varg and John Carpenter made some fantastic art in their day.

I just checked, and apparently the difference is between John Howard Carpenter and John Henry Carpenter. I like how none of the "true Hollywood stories" ever bothers to make this distinction. ****ing lame. I actually liked it before, when Halloween was the work of a psychopath.
