All Things Must Pass

Tels the story of the rise and fall of Tower Records. Fascinating how a company can be the top of its game and then vanish just like that. The way they treat their employees however is how you run a company. Russ Solomon is a legend. This also makes me wish I grew up in the 70s.

It's so imaginative and beautiful. I love just absorbing every it throws my way. Tokyo Godfathers is another anime by the same director that's very much worth watching, allthough it's far less weird.

Agreed on all of that, and it's funny because I saw Colin Hanks at Amoeba records a few months ago in Hollywood. Who knew he was into music so much.

Time Lapse

Very cool premise with some nice twists and turns.

And as a bonus........

I've been meaning to watch this. I didn't even know my town had a Tower Records until a year or two before it went out of business, and even then it was too far to walk and public transport was super inconsistent.

I wonder if it's possible for a revival as a vinyl only store that's in partnership with Amazon or something, like what they do with books. It'd probably be Tower Records in name only, but it'd still be kind of cool to see Tower Records again.

Go to Japan. They're still huge in Japan.

We still have Tower Records in Ireland under a licensed franchise.

No, I have not.

Exactly. The ending twisted so many ways, with first the hallucination, then the real ending, then the real real ending, you kind of didn't know how it would turn out. I loved the ending, even though it was so heartbreaking. The video will was soul-crushing; I mean, who is ever going to find that? Also, shout out to that snake! Yeah! You in MY hood now, biatch!

Superb documentary, and very sad how it all ended up. There'll never be another place like that.
