I actually watched that last week and thought it was pretty crap. Not that anyone would be surprised that I didn't like it

Watched Arrival yesterday, and despite having had a low view of Denis Villeneuve's movies so far, I liked this one fairly much. A bit too visually plain and narratively surface level for such an interesting concept, but I still think it was enjoyable. Not sure it's gonna stand up well to repeat viewings, as a big part of the appeal was simply figuring out where the plot was going.

Realized I had the complete film scores of John Carpenter on both vinyl and digital lossless, as well as both volumes of his Lost Themes in both formats... but had only seen three of his films.

I saw Escape From NY and LA and The Thing, and really liked his style so I picked up the complete filmography including the Masters of Horror episodes he produced.

I plan to view them chronologically so last night I watched Dark Star.

This should be fun.

I just saw that Netflix movie Next Gen. It wasn't too bad. Got a lot of flashbacks to Big Hero 6, although I think that these guys did a better job with the concept/story. They were also able to take a lot of liberties and push boundaries cause apparently Netflix has no standards & practice department so essentially they can "air" whatever they please. Not a bad film from a studio that used to make rage comics.
