^ I remember hating the movie because it ruined everything the book achieved to do.

It's difficult to narrow the selection down to one favorite book, but to pick one of my favorites to post, I choose Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess. The film really missed the point of the book by not including the final chapter.

I don't know why I'm the only one that thinks that the final chapter in the book really ruined everything built up in the previous chapters.

I thought it added a nice closing to the book. He realized it was time to grow up and not act like a stupid kid anymore. More people should have that epiphany these days.

^ It seems like such a prefect world. The whole point of the story is that no one can really change, and that corrupted will stay corrupted. We can't force anyone against his nature. He might've wanted to add that Alex only changed when he wanted to change, but it's too optimistic for my taste.

I think that was the point. You can't force change, it must be chosen.

As a die hard pessimist, I would normally agree with you, but it just felt right in the book.

It's really good. It's written with the point of view of a boy with OCD, so the writing style is very interesting. I think you'd like it

It's an amazing book, although the boy has Asperger's syndrome, similar to Autism, not OCD although he does demonstrate OCD tendencies. Anyway, it's an incredible book, especially if you're familiar with the disability. I've worked with Autistic children so I personally found it fascinating. It's also on the booklist at many high schools here.
