Any Dexter fans? If so what did think of the finale of season 2 or what going to happen next season?

savannah 03-11-2008 05:20 AM

i'm also a die hard dexter watcher,....
and i kinda that ****er doaks was gonna die,....i didnt however want him to kill lila,...
i really liked lila, i dont care if she was a crazy bitch,....
and i wish rita would just go away,....she's so,....mousey,....

have you read the books?

xavient 03-11-2008 09:57 AM

I've heard of it, but i didn't see any episode. I read some reviews and that's it. Is it worth watching it, or just another big budget full of flaws serial?

sweet_nothing 03-11-2008 11:44 AM

I have read all 3 books I'm reading them again in order I'm almost done with Dearly Devoted Dexter.
If you haven't seen the show I would reccomend it,I think they show reruns on NBC on Mondays or something.
I'm glad Lila died, I wish Doakes did'nt, Rita is okay.

teshadoh 03-11-2008 12:02 PM

Doakes was just tiring, I got tired of his ongoing pissed off attitude about everything, especially Dexter. The wife & I were quite pleased that Dexter will continue with his serial killing hobby.

Well every hero needs a nemesis.

ahh yes the dialouge between deb and vince. Deb is kinda hot.

cardboard adolescent 03-12-2008 07:41 AM

i think the show could only end satisfyingly with dexter dying

djchameleon 03-12-2008 10:28 AM

I missed doaks but he had it coming. lila was awful and too risky for dexter to have around....I did a little dance when he killed her....

Dexter dying wouldn't be a satisfying end to me.....I think Dexter having to kill Deb would be a nice ending to the series that I'd like to see.

Dexter needs Rita in his life....a little sense of normality to balance off everything else.

I clapped when he killed lila. Dexter can't die....he just can't. And if he did Debs would not be the one to do it.

savannah 03-12-2008 10:51 PM

y'all are full of it
lila was the only one who saw dex,....i mean really saw him,....

and what can i say, i have a think for crazy women with accents

Lila was a cray bitch who needed to be put down she tried to kill Dexter twice and tried to kill Astor and Cody little kids!

sweet_nothing 10-06-2008 03:46 PM

*BUMP*

Thoughts on the new season?

I thought the premiere was abit dull, but the end of this past episode saved it for me.

ithrowdown 10-10-2008 01:31 PM

oh man oh man oh man. my roommates and i have all recently become OBSESSED with dexter and we're trying so hard to catch up so that we can start watching the new season. we're about 1/3 of the way through season 2. but i saw some spoilers online already... LOOKS GREAT!!

Disintegration 10-13-2008 09:18 AM

I'm not too taken with season 3 so far. It's good, but it just doesn't hold my interest like it used to. Kind of like Heroes. Though, Dexter won't be as bad as Heroes has gotten.

sweet_nothing 10-13-2008 04:55 PM

Hasn't Heroes always been bad?

Leeman 10-15-2008 09:22 AM

I just finished watching season two last night and I loved it. I think season one was better however. I also have to agree that the only satisfying ending to the show would be if Dexter died, but I would hate it. Gonna start watching season three tonight.

Sparky 10-19-2008 09:06 PM

LOVED season 1.

Season 2 was bad i thought. Too many annoying characters, the new head of the police department, the psycho girlfriend, doaks.

Season 3 might turn things around, but so far its been incredibly boring. The ratio between fun killing and actual plot line has tipped way over, now its just the boring drama of his life. It used to be you'd see him humorously kill people at least once an episode, now if he does its done in such a boring way...

Make the show goofier again :(

sweet_nothing 10-19-2008 09:07 PM

I wish he would of had more fun with that pedofile on last week's.

Sparky 10-19-2008 09:11 PM

This new Mexican guy, whatever he is is boring me to tears too. The one who's family member died, and thanked Dexter for killing the one guy.

I can't remember any of their names.

Stop adding all these characters, the show is called ****ing DEXTER.

Was today's episode even worth downloading?

sweet_nothing 10-19-2008 09:14 PM

Idk, I DVR'd it but havent bothered giving it a watch. Anyone else read the books? I'm re reading Dearly Devoted Dexter and I think the show would be better if they took more from the books.

Leeman 10-20-2008 11:14 AM

So yeah, I am caught up with season three now and I am pretty satisfied with the direction it is taking so far, although I agree that Miguel is kind of annoying. I like how they are making Deb a little less whiney.

sweet_nothing 10-27-2008 09:25 PM

Anybody see the newest one? I'm not sure how I feel about Miguel knowing what Dexter is and that he wants to help him, wtf? But I guess the rest of the season will be interesting, though I dont think Miguel will live through it.

Rockafella 12-05-2008 05:10 PM

Season three started out pretty slow but it sure is getting interesting with only a couple episodes left.

sweet_nothing 12-05-2008 05:28 PM

I actually got nervous when Dexter was kidnapped at the end of the last episode, but then during the credits it was like 'hear Michael C Hall talk about what its like to get in the mind of a serial killer and talk about the next season' so I was like oh damn why dont they wait until the end of this season before talking about the next one, I mean now that I know he's gonna be ok what's the point of watching ?

swim 01-19-2009 01:51 PM

I'm in the middle of season one. Wow.

Yeh, it's a good show but the new season as a whole seemed a bit dry.

Sneer 01-19-2009 02:07 PM

For a split second i thought this was a thread on Dexter's Laboratory :(

swim 01-19-2009 02:25 PM

I hated that show when I was little.

Sneer 01-19-2009 02:33 PM

Get out.

Anyway... as you were with Dexter

swim 01-19-2009 04:10 PM

When they said Neil Perry I swore they were about to bust out the jams. Lul, screamo fan works for Dexter. Eh, coincidence...

ikvat 01-20-2009 02:31 PM

I'm fan too.

swim 01-21-2009 03:03 PM

Nobody dies first episode of season 2? What the ef david blayne?

FreddeGredde 02-16-2009 03:58 PM

Great show, I'd say *the best* if it wasn't for LOST. ;)

The third season was disappointing though, definitely worse than the first two. It was just so.. slow, and more "drama" than "psychological thriller".

WWWP 09-28-2010 12:05 AM

Bump for the start of a new season.

Burning Down 09-28-2010 07:00 AM

I just watched the new episode and all I have to say is WOW. It was incredibly good, as always.

Has anyone read the books?

Is anyone still watching Dexter? I have been religiously since the start but Christ... I think the show may have completely jumped the shark with Debra's death. Which is odd because it was one of the most compelling endings of any season of any television show.

I'm not sure if this contains spoilers or not, but I'm going to vent here like the geek I am:

Spoiler for A ****load of bitching:
Firstly, all the new characters are boring. The new black cop guy has potential if they don't attempt to turn him into another Doakes. I liked the Flamingo bit, and think he might turn awesome but isn't cutting it. Couldn't give two ****s about Debra's Psychiatrist, Harrison's Baby Sitter, anyone involved with brother Sam, etc. The Doomsday killers themselves are insanely derivative, Masuka's interns, as well.

Secondly, Debra + Quinn = TV boredom. I've never liked Quinn, and he just gets irritating the more they move him in the spotlight. He appeared out of seemingly nowhere, for no reason, and now he's in our face 24/7.

Thirdly, Debra's emotional issues are getting on my nerves. This whole 'oh, I'm not right for this new position, it's so stressful...' nonsense would be ok if it didn't take up 20 minutes of screen time every episode. It's so dull, and obvious.

Fourthly, Masuka(seemingly the only likable character on the show apart from Dexter himself at the moment) doesn't need to have a gag every 3 minutes. Honestly, he worked so well early on BECAUSE he was a bit player. It's been getting really old for awhile.

There's so little to like about the new season. Feels like they're just phoning it in. I mean, it's been written well in terms of consistency, and story progression. It's still very well acted. Just feels for some reason they aren't taking risks with the writing at all. Which is what makes Dexter an exciting show. Last season was ok with moments(and the Frank Weller character 'Stan Liddy' was ****ing amazing), this season doesn't even have the moments. I'm guessing, is this the end for Dexter being godlike awesome?

AdinWilliam 11-12-2011 03:31 AM

I am regular watching this show and like it. This show is going very well. I hope the new season of this show will get good response from peoples.
