100 Things That Piss Me Off About Video Games (dancing, techno)

You know what pisses me off? How the Wii is treated as a ****ty/kiddy system and the really good games come out for only the PS3/Xbox 360. I don't think its controllers have a whole hell of a lot to do with it either, seeing as they make a lot of the the less-hardcore games for all systems.

Well this isn't part of my list (which I'm just making up as I go) but let's consider this an honorable mention.

101: Gratuitous overuse of the word "Fanboy"

For gamers especially. There needs to be more of a line given to distinguish fans and actual fanboys.

A Nintendo fan: Prefers the Wii to 360 and PS3 and will give his reasoning.
A Nintendo fanboy: Has absolutely nothing positive to say about Sony or Microsoft, has a strong disrespect for third party companies and still holds a grudge against Sega as if he just caught Sonic the Hedgehog f*cking his mom.

you also have to keep in mind the technical limits of each respective machine. the wii isn't exactly a hardware powerhouse. both the 360 and ps3 are competing for the highest def market. the 360 offered gamers the red ring of death lottery for those who wanted to save a buck up front.

there's also a reason why the wii has built itself a less that positive reputation among less than casual gamers, let's take a look at the new releases for just this week...

i think it's safe to say most of that list is either poop or for kids. spyro and spiderman are usually safe bets, monopoly is fun but why not just use the actual board? wii music might be interesting but i'm pretty sure i'd rather play rockband 2. as for the rest... YAY 3rd party 'games'

What are you talking about? It dosen't have a bad reputation with less than casual gamers at all. Actually quite the opposite. Why do you think it has so many party games? You think they're just being assh*les? No, the Wii has a much broader demographic than PS3 and 360, the Nintendo hardcore alone wouldn't have made it the best selling system, if that were the case then the N64 and Gamecube obviously would have sold better. With the Wii there is literally something for everybody and since the Wii is marketed as the "family" console theres a good deal of party games to appease that market. And guess what? They're selling like hot cakes.

Wii is the choice console for younger gamers and their parents due to it's greater quanitity of family friendly games. I have even seen some old retirement homes where they have a Wii because Wii Sports is such a hit with the old folks.

The Wii is creating a new interest in video games among a lot of people that were never interested in video games before. And yeah, that's a good thing.

Although I'm too poor to buy a next-gen console or even remotely interested to spend a heap of cash to be in part of gaming trend, if I would buy one, it would be Wii, just for super smash bros brawl.
