More like multiplayer gaming circles are all some variation of Call of Duty dudebros. I don't think I've ever seen a multiplayer community that wasn't largely made up of butthurt ****heads who are all 5 seconds away from becoming rampaging football hooligans when they're playing.

yeah i mean i think it’s a different kind of arrogance than sports fans but still obnoxious just the same

it’s like 30% of ppl i see in games are nice and cool individuals whereas the other 70% are still fuming they were always picked last in gym class and now that there’s someone doing worse than them in their online game they need to let the years of frustration go on them.

i think it’s really interesting on the pro scene like compare someone a la Mike Trout who was an all star athlete his whole life and is used to the spotlight vs someone like Bjergsen who was socially awkward and bullied all throughout his life and is now one of the biggest esports stars.

you’ve got one guy who probably always got away with everything because he’s good at something whereas the other guy kinda went zero to hero. it makes me wonder what a lot of pro players are actually like irl. there’s the stigma of all jocks being dbags but what happens when the dweeb becomes the jock?
