Speaking of Super Nintendo I got myself an SNES Classic and boy is it great.

Hard to even pick what to play. I cleared world 1 of Yoshi's Island and then started up Castlevania IV which I've never played before. Very hard but a lot of fun, reminds me of Mega Man tbh but with a whip and a spooky horror atmosphere

They got modded versions on eBay with hundreds of games and upgraded hard drives so you can actually have saves for more than 20 games. From what I've read modding a SNES Classic is pretty easy and non-risky. I don't know if I want to take the chance with $150 but god damn. I'd be more willing to go for the base model if it had Chrono Trigger. How the **** do you miss that one? Or Final Fantasy 4?

I still have my old SNES and games from when I was a kid. Could probably drop a nuke on it, and it'd still play. ****'s built to last.

I don't even know what happened to mine but I imagine it broke and got thrown out. I've been having an unholy craving for Super Metroid recently.

You must've done something awful to it. Cart based systems typically don't break unless you beat the **** out of them. No drives, lenses, readers, misc. moving parts, overheating, etc., to worry about.

It's possible I just threw it out in a fit of insanity having not played it for years but I don't want to think about that.

Thank Crom for emulation.

How much does latency even matter anyway?

I will consider doing this at some point, but I'm plenty happy with the options for now. The lack of Chrono Trigger is weird but tbh I'm mainly in it for the platformers. I have no problem playing Chrono Trigger on an emulator with a keyboard, but playing SNES platformers with anything other than an official SNES controller just bums me out. There's something so pure about platformers with that controller

Other than Chrono Trigger/other Final Fantasies the only games I can really think of that I wish were on the system are the other two Donkey Kong Countries. Otherwise the list is pretty damn exhaustive.
