"Hardcore mode" and "difficulty" pretty much have nothing to do with each other. all hardcore mode does is make it slightly more fun.

There should be one hit kills.

You're a bit of a masochist, aren't you?

No no, he's right. I would love to see a "realistic" mode where every character (yourself included) dies after only a few shots/strikes (with headshots being one-hit kills). It'd be insanely easy for the developers to make it, since all they'd have to do is set everyone's health to a certain level (in fact, i'm pretty sure there are already one-hit kill fan-made mods for Fallout 3 and NV) and tweak a few numbers here and there.

For people who like the RPG-esque vanilla version where you can shoot a raider in the face but he doesn't die because fuck you he's just better than you, they'll still have the regular mode. But us masochists will finally have the extreme stealth challenge we've been waiting for. Especially if they make it so that you can only save in certain places, so reloading every five seconds isn't an option (however, they'd have to fix the freezing issues before they could expect us to play a mode where we can't save all the time).

I have no particular issue with the gameplay, but I would like it if the difficulty curve didn't drop off so steeply as the game progresses and you get better abilities/equipment. At the beginning you had to be cautious around just about everything, but now that my level is in the mid-thirties and I can afford pretty much anything, along with keeping my equipment fully repaired at all times and my ammo stocked to ridiculous proportions, I'd have to up the difficulty setting to get any kind of challenge out of the game at this point. Although it helps that I gave myself a ridiculously high endurance, just so I could use all the implants.

If I wasn't so far into the game, I'd consider creating a melee only character, just to see if I had to use more strategy than simply, "Creep around enemies, find sniping position, annihilate".

^ Try playing through the game as a boxer with no weapons and no armor. There's nothing quite as satisfying as beating a deathclaw to death with your bare hands, whilst naked.

Here's a random question for the gamers in here: When you play a game that lets you choose your gender, which do you most often find yourself playing as?

Almost always a chick. Don't know why. I've never had any cross dressing tendencies, and even in a first-person game where I can't really perv out and my gender is almost irrelevant I still do it.

Makes sense. After all, we're the Buffy Generation.

I've noticed that with the rise of boys being raised by single mothers has come a rise in notable female protagonists that are clearly aimed at the male demographic: Lara Croft, Xena, Buffy, etc. Sure, there is some objectification going on, but they're still treated as legitimate characters. I kind of hypothesize that women are becoming more and more dominant as male role models, even if they are being altered in pop culture to suit our dudeness.

I mainly stick to male characters if i have a choice but if not i don't mind a female mc

^ exactly how i feel.

To be honest idk how to measure the fun i get out of difficult games, sometimes high difficulty makes the payoff sweeter but sometimes i don't need that especially if the game engrosses me with other features.

But my real contradiction is i prefer when the game controlls the difficulty instead of giving me the option to change it cause if it's up to me i'll set it on easy and breeze through it.

Playing Fallout 2 the only Fallout I've never played before. Shocked though to find that my chosen character is savage that walks around barefoot and in skins with a spear. The tribe have that Gollum look about them and even have human skulls on polls :D Anyway as this is meant to be the best Fallout game according to all the things I've read I'm really intrigued to play it.

A real bummer with Battlefield 4 as I found I couldn't play it, as my 360 doesn't have a built in hard drive, I can remember about 6 months ago I couldn't play a Call of Duty game because I needed a flash drive or something, but as that was dirt cheap I bought one, but there's no way I'm buying a hardrive for the 360 and will probably wait now to I get a next gen machine later in the year to play it.

Instead now playing Saints Row The Third and the jury is still out on it.
