I've been playing the bullet hell shoot 'em up Espgaula II on XB360.

But nowhere near as well as the player in that video.

Satellite Reign

Finally came out of Early Access and an example of Kickstarter success. Basically this is a spiritual successor to Syndicate wherein it's a cyberpunk dystopian future where you play a corporate spy stealing from other companies. You can control up to 4 guys in a cover-based combat system or you can try to sneak around. I have a feeling there's a lot more to the game then what it's telling me to do but the first few hours have been alright. It definitely nails the cyberpunk look and feel without the fantasy elements that kind of turn me off Shadowrun. I haven't really experienced combat yet because I've mostly been running around the main area of the map right now unlocking these checkpoint/ relay things that let you change up your characters. The only mission I've actually done related to the main plot of the game was getting one of my characters back from a police station, but I stumbled across a backway in and just had 1 character go in and bust him out in all of about 5 minutes. Now I'm kind of just exploring the map and trying to figure out what I need to do to upgrade some characters so I can start interacting with things I keep seeing in the environment. I do worry though that the game's story won't be all that captivating so I really hope the mix of gameplay will make up for it. Also, the game has some optimization issues however because of the isometric view it doesn't impact the game all that much.

Bottom line is if you like cyberpunk and or Syndicate then this is probably a game for you.

Shadow Blade: Reload

I'm a pretty big fan of fast paced action platformers along the lines of Super Meat Boy and the like, and this game feels and looks and also play really really well. I saw Jacksepticeye made a video on this game and within the first minute, I knew I had to have this game. It was in early access, but I must've got it as soon as it got out of early access. It's geniunely a really fun fast paced hack n slash platformer with some great graphic design and controller support. I use a PS4 controller but it's obvious that it'd work better with a Xbox 360 controller. I've managed to make it work with the controller I have though, so it's not a big deal. If you're into games like Super Meat Boy and like games where time is a stressed factor, this one is definitely a game you should check out. I'm enjoying it so far. I'm obviously going to put a lot of time into this game since I already see myself wanting to be the times that it gives me and get all good ranks on all the levels. I'll also say that the controls are really simple and easy to get used to, so it makes the game a lot more fun to play.

But I really hate the game :(

Same reaction to so many other similar games that look really cool.

Every time the screen blurs and battle music starts, I let out a faintly audible groan.

I don't know how you guys do it!?

...Alcohol?

Sounds like rpgs are not for you.
Gaming genres are like music genres, you're not gonna like them all. for exmpl i used to think platformer games were sh*t but then i realised im just not into platformer games. i like a few action platformers like Megaman and Metroid but that's about it.

Have you played the Kingdom hearts game? they are rpgs but they have an active battle system that's honestly too good for just a disney themed game.

Btw, i also played Shadow hearts 2, great game.

i disagree. It's not all rpg, it's jrpg. There is a huge difference, if only because jrpg is a sub genre of crpg (and btw, kingdom hearts and shadow hearts 2 are jrpgs).
I remember loving ff7 back in the day when it came out, but now ? I don't think I could do it, with the absolute ton of pointless grind you have to go through.
Compare the gameplay of ff7 to something like the witcher 3(or deus ex, or dragon age, or baldurs gate). Not the graphics, story etc, just the gameplay. They are distinctly different, the only things that connect them is that they both have a story that evolves and characters that change overtime. Other than that ? I don't see any major similarities.
Call me old but what I've found helps with jrpgs is .. well, being young. When I was 15 I could spend 12 hours straight fighting jumping houses or some other silly monster in ff7 to for example, level up my materia..but now ? I'd die of boredom halfway through.
So while I agree games are not for everybody, judging all crpg from a somewhat hermetic jrpg point of view is, well, dishonest.

To be honest im old school, i call suikoden 2 an rpg even though ppl call it a jrpg but i get what you mean, i also can't get into them like i did when i was young. ive tried playing FF7 and Suikoden 2 again and bailed on them cause i don't wanna go through the chocobo breeding sh*t or collecting 108 characters getting all those things takes a dedication i just don't have anymore.

Still, if it is a jrpg i haven't played i can get into it. i recently played Persona 2: eternal punishment and really liked it. i said what i said cause some ppl simply don't like the gameplay of rpgs, most of my friends growing up didn't like jrpg's, they found them really boring. their main problem with them was the turn based gameplay and grinding 2 things ive always liked, instead they preferred action rpgs like a Link to the past.

Titan Souls - AKA Shadow of the Colossal Dark Souls

Basically it's a 2D game in the environment of Shadow of the Colossus wherein there are only boss enemies to fight in a large open world mixed with the "if at first you don't succeed, die die die again" attitude of Dark Souls. You die in 1 hit but so do the boss monsters (for the most part, sometimes you have to get through their defenses) and you have 1 arrow which you have to retrieve if you miss your mark. Much like in Shadow of the Colossus the boss fights can also be considered puzzles as you have to figure out what you need to do to defeat them, for instance I was fighting this giant brain in an block of ice and I had to shoot my arrow through a flame to melt the ice, and then shoot it again now that its defense was down. So far there's no story so it's just a skill challenge which I don't mind at first, but without the hint of a story shown in the environment or item descriptions like in Dark Souls or the cutscenes and exposition of Shadow of the Colossus I don't know how long I'll stick with this one. It's a good game to play at night while I listen to a podcast or something, but I do feel I'll get a ways into this game and just drop it because I'm bored.

I've had this game on my wishlist for a while. I only fear that if I get it, the game will end up cutting too short and i'll feel like I wasted my money. It seems fun though.
