Just started playing Final Fantasy Tactics for the first time. Seems pretty cool so far, though all the political world building shit is going in one ear and out the other. I did notice a Fist of the North Star reference though, so there's that.

My pathetic team of squires just got massacred. Fucking cheap ass archers and mages. I got cocky 'cause I thought chemists had infinite potions to throw, didn't realize you had to buy them. I guess this is what I get for not going through the tutorial.

The class sustem is amazing and the random battles outside the story line level up with you, so its never a stomp.

Wasn't the survival horror game I was hoping for anyway, though it seemed like a solid mix of modern and old school RE. And it was only 77 cents so **** it.

Then I figured **** that **** and installed F.E.A.R. since I heard it was excellent. I knew it was supposed to be an FPS horror game but I wasn't expecting it to be so FPS that I would actually be fighting squads of human beings in military uniforms, even if they are clones. I've been promised actual scary **** to make me poop my pants, and the combat is surprisingly good due to some badass enemy AI (****s on COD), so I'm gonna pick the game back up tonight when the sun goes down and hope for the best. Hopefully the FPS doesn't outweigh the horror as I've been burnt out on those games for years.
The narrative/horror aspects aren't good, (psychological horror doesn't do much for me, and there is a general lack of information about the game that makes the narrative uninteresting), but the combat more than makes up for the game's shortcoming imo. The ai is genius, because the enemies display intelligence despite the simple mechanics of the ai. It's hard as balls to decide what my favorite game of 2005 is, this or Resident Evil 4.

Downloaded Saints Row 2 for five bucks. It's good to be back in Stillwater. I can't fucking believe I never noticed all the glaring pop culture references before, but then again the last time I really played was years ago. Got a good laugh when I noticed an area of the map was called Southern Cross, and that the two models of motorcycles the Ronin use are called Tetsuo and Kaneda.

Where'd you get it from? It's still $10 on Steam.

I downloaded it to my PS3 from PSN. Vanilla was five bucks, but I think they also had a ten dollar version that included the DLC.
