The only way I can think of respawning enemies working in the game's favour is when there's a big open world to explore, something like the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games or Skyrim. A world where I can stumble upon a group of bandits while exploring, and choose to either sneak around them or engage. The problem I had with Borderlands was that there was never anything that interesting to go off and see. Every cool thing with that game was scripted and tied into the boring story missions, and that game had one of the worst, most pointless stories of this console generation. You could walk around Pandora for hours, but you're never going to come across a random Skag King, or you'll never come across a cave, go inside it and find some really cool rare weapon, the best loot drops always came from completing some mission quest.

I played that RE6 demo.

I don't think the "scary" Leon campaign, or any other RE game with a behind the back camera can ever come close to the suspense and creepiness of the old fixed camera games. It was such a pain to aim, and the shots were tailor made to scare you (dogs + windows). This just seems like a bad version of Alan Wake or something.

The more action oriented campaigns seem OK; basically more RE5 action (melee range is noticeably smaller, which helps).

Getting FIFA 13 today. Another year of annoying chavvy football fans by playing Death Grips quite loudly down the mic. The pro clubs mode is also an under rated game of tactics and skill.

Resident Evil was best with 4 when it was just silly and camp without pretending to be scary in any way, shape or form. If I want to be scared I'll play a Silent Hill game (is what I wish I could say if that little franchise isn't owned by a group of colossal retards who think Dead Space is the epitome of fear).

Horror games are a particular sore point for me.

The *entire* rest of the game is *nothing* like that fight, is the point.

Alright, daddy needs a new CRPG to keep him occupied for this rare weekend of no obligations and he's narrowed my list down to these games.

Planescape: Torment
Fallout
Deus Ex
Arcanum: Of Steamworks & Magick Obscura, which is widely regarded as the greatest broken CRPG game next to Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines (admit it, just reading the name kind of makes you want to install it), and with all the fan mods you can circumvent a lot of the broken areas.

Decisions decisions...

Having played all those, Fallout was the one I enjoyed the most and Arcanum was the one I liked the least (also prefer Bloodlines to Arcanum). Planescape torment was about as fun as the Baldurs Gate games.

Sure, I get that. Still, having played a few hours more now having got a vehicle and trying to get to Sanctuary, I think I can say the game is not for me. Much of my earlier criticism still feels very valid, about how everything (even loot) respawns making my progress through the game feel quite insignificant. Playing this game is like wading through crap. You push away the **** in front of you to get through and then it just closes in behind you again once you've passed.

I can see the appeal, but like the first Borderland, this one is not for me.

Plus, I've hated Claptrap for every second of the game so far.

Rage, which is similar in a lot of ways, was more appealing to me.

I'm playing Deus Ex at the moment on PS3, which one are you talking about anyway, the new version or the original?

The first I would assume as the latest is called Deus Ex : Human Revolution, the list of games is rather old and because LoathsomePete has spelled out the entire correct names for the other titles.
