Well put, it IS like a Samurai groundhog day oddly enough i never made that comparison.

I got all the endings and collected every accessory in that game, i played WOTS3 too but getting all the endings in that one is alot more complicated.

Do you have Nocturne?

I gotta play it again sometime soon! I can't play the 3rd game since it was only released on PS3 and I only have a 360. I think I can get WOTS4 for it, or perhaps it was the other way around. Now I'm confusing myself! :S

Hmm... Nocturne? Assuming you mean a PS2 game, I googled it and got Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne - which I actually did play, but here in Europe it is called SMT: Lucifer's Call. Is that the one you meant?

WOTS 3 can be downloaded on the Xbox Live marketplace. The fourth game, unfortunately, was released as a Playstation 3 exclusive, although I think they're porting it to the PC.

The later WOTS games are alright but 2 is the best one imo.

Thanks, it all makes sense now :P Of course it must have been poor sales of the 3rd that caused them to not bother with the 4th game on the 360. If only my PC wasn't so pathetic, I could have solved the problem :/

I did own that game some years ago, but I confess to having a hard time liking these kinds of games. I usually love them for the first 6-12 hours, then the repetition kills my enthusiasm and I can't go on. Stupid as I am, I've sold many JRPG's over the years that would turn out to be rare and valuable. I even used to own Suikoden I & II on PS1 - both notoriously rare and expensive now.
Also pretty awesome, which only makes me hate my own carelessness even more! Oh well...

Lucifer's Call was pretty cool for a while. I love the art direction and the soundtrack in particular. I've listened to an MP3 of one particular track hundreds of times over the years. It's this jazzy, rock piece from an urban map somewhere early in the game. So stylish, so smooth! I don't own the game anymore, because I started losing my sanity to the grinding :/
I'm not built for these games, but I WANT to like them.

Sadly, the only two JRPG's I can still play for any amount of time seem to be Shadowhearts 2 and 3. I love the 2nd game and used to wake up to a particular track from the game every morning

I haven't played any Star Ocean game, I think.

It takes a certain type of gamer to really master the art of tedious grinding.

People keep telling me Final Fantasy 7 is great and I love the music, the universe, the storytelling, the materia system and so much more. LOVE IT.
But I really hate the game

Same reaction to so many other similar games that look really cool.

Every time the screen blurs and battle music starts, I let out a faintly audible groan.

I don't know how you guys do it!?

...Alcohol?

Suikoden I, yes! I've mentioned that game multiple times here, one of my favorite RPGs ever. I feel the same about FF7, I dumped a ton of time in it but found many jrpgs I enjoyed more since playing it, and I have 0 interest in playing it when the new super graphic version comes out. Star Ocean was solid.
