Depends on what you mean by "series." If you mean franchise (e.g. Batman, Superman, etc.), I'd say Batman. If you mean a set of ten or so books that follow a linear storyline, I'd say either Preacher or Sandman (I've only read the first book of each, I'll buy more when I get more money that I don't feel like spending on CDs).

MURDER JUNKIE 04-15-2006 02:45 AM

Comics hold their value, CD's do not http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...ap/yelwink.gif

explosions-in-my-pants 04-15-2006 09:06 AM

some day all of my comics will be worth lots of money.... :p: oh what a nice day that will be.

Sweet Jane 04-15-2006 09:19 AM

My friend and myself were talking about comics today, he assures me Captain Britain is quite good. I have never checked it out myself.

I never really progressed beyond the Calvin and Hobbes comic strip; although Rehabilitating Mr Wiggles amuses me sometimes.

swim 04-15-2006 12:02 PM

i read wolverine and batman gotham knights, gotham knights had ok cartoons but the 92 batman animated were the best and batman beyond was good.

Pardon, I don't understand. What do youmean?

explosions-in-my-pants 04-15-2006 01:26 PM

years and years from now comics will be worth so much money.. and well cd's won't have that same worth to them.

jazzfromhell 04-15-2006 01:50 PM

Maybe not the CD's you guys buy....but I've got some CD's that are pretty damn rare.

explosions-in-my-pants 04-15-2006 02:01 PM

yea but point being almost all comic's will be at leats worth something, and only a few cd's will be worth anything...

but....

maybe some day once all people do is burn music that they'll only start to make a few cd's for each band and then they'll become more and more rare to find, and to have...

MURDER JUNKIE 04-15-2006 02:32 PM

Comics are always worth face value, if I walk into a pawn shop with a CD I am lucky to get two bucks for my investment. Comics value only goes up from face

explosions-in-my-pants 04-15-2006 03:42 PM

i'm just glad my oldest comic goes back to 1977 cause well if i had all old ones i know i'd see lots of money not far from now.. but where most of mine are from the 80's and 90's it will still be long long time before there actually worth anything pawning them off for.. i'll pass them down to my great great grand children haha..

swim 04-15-2006 04:46 PM

they make too many copies of series and they make t0o many series(seriously how many x-men series are there, i dont think i can count that high) youll be damn lucky if 30 years from now if individually your comics are worth 5 bucks.

jazzfromhell 04-15-2006 07:18 PM

Well, whichever is worth more, I don't really care, because a. I like music more anyway, and b. I don't buy anything with intent of ever selling it, unless I'm buying it specifically so I can sell it later.

tdoc210 04-15-2006 07:46 PM

still i dont get it either about teh paper money no real value, now back when coins were made out of gold and silver that was real. besides ypu could cut them for less or more value

mosesandtherubberducky 04-15-2006 11:11 PM

*gets to use what he has learned in economics*

Money a while ago was dependant on gold as its backing. A certain number of currency was a certain ammout of gold. Now the American Dollar is feat (spelling?) meaning it is independant of any backing. It is a standard instead of gold.

a dollar is worth something because we let it be worth something. it's more or less official.
same reason why a comic book might be worth something because it's official. anyone get a copy of the story especially with the internet.

ahem yes silver dollars and gold dollars paper currency...mmmhmmm you could trae it for gold..now think if we were in a post apocalyptic tate what would u want more? gold or silver, which almost anyone would take, or paper money which would be useless

mosesandtherubberducky 04-16-2006 09:43 AM

I would want all the twinkies

It really isn't very time consuming http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...mpslap/mad.gif

Superman is such as *******...is the water tainted or something?

MURDER JUNKIE 04-17-2006 11:46 PM

Vertigo just put out a series called American Virgin that is pretty good. It is about a youth minister who seems to have everything and is waiting for his fiance to return from the African Peace Corps so they can get married and he can finally have sex. Before her return she is kidnapped by insurgents and beheaded on national TV, this leaves the character in a bit of a conundrum with his sexual urges, his career, and his faith.

Pretty good stuff and begs some moral questions

NERDS...... jk, but really, you made a comic thread on a music forum, i understand that you can put whatever treads you want on here, but c'mon..... comics, thatslike someone making a thread on how much they love a certain card game or something. But i have no problem with funny comics, but the more nerdy ones like Batman and stuff. Cad-comics, VGcats, and pennyacarde are all good online ones

 x1,000,000

Just how much Batman have you actually read? I don't have a problem with things being "nerdy" in the first place, but I seriously doubt you know what you're talking about.

It's in the Lounge, so I can pretty much post anything I want in here. But you probably wouldn't know that in your significant and generous contribution of eighteen posts http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...ap/erotic4.gif

Watchmen, Sandman, and V For Vendetta are probably my favorites... Alan Moore, Neil Gaiman, and Frank Miller are all freaking geniuses.
