Why does Pacino have to shout every line these days? The whole premise of The Godfather films was Pacinos' softly spoken demeanour. When he lost it, you really felt it.

yeah I really find it hard these days to watch a pacino film. I'm afraid to say that he really slipped in a world of stupid thrillers made for dvd sales, and he seems like he is not even trying anymore...the thing is that maybe the fact that he won his only oscar, for the worst role he acted, out of those he was nominated for, had something to do with it. even "Carlito's Way", which was a good film seems to me like it was made to fast and is full of sloppy acting and direction. and he always seems to play the same role again and again. he's in my opinion if not the best, one of the top five actors ever, and he owes it to us to give us some more memorable characters, like he did in the 70s.

as for De Niro, who always comes to mind when I think of Pacino, I don't even wonna start. he can't sink any lower...there is only up, and I hope he finds his way.nowadays when I know his in a film I don't even bother.
