Game Of Thrones has made it over to Sky One and looks decent enough, fantastic production values.

The Vikings which is just a 3 part doc but meticulously made by the BBC and presented by the ever watchable Neil Oliver.

Trollied (series 2) which is a typical Northern humour inspired comedy about the day to day running of a supermarket but I liked the first series enough to watch the second series.

Stephen Hawkings Grand Designs on Discovery which thus far hasn't told me anything new about the subject of the universe but is a great watch nontheless.

Yeah, I got really into it (as did my wife). It's weird, I've read a lot of different reviews and commentary on the show where people talk about some season being so much better than some other season but I think it's one of the most consistent shows I've ever watched. Every season was equally good.

Yeah I really don't think one season is better than the other in objective terms, they are all spectacular examples of story telling and characterization. I know a lot of people seem to be down in season 2 because of how it only seems tangentially related to the things we learned about the streets and the Barksdale crew.

I guess if you think the show is about the Barksdale crew you might think that, but I saw it as being about various organizations within Baltimore and enjoyed the second season just as much as every other season. I keep wondering, if the show had continued for another season, which organization it would have dealt with. I think it could have been cool if it was the church, especially since they had already touched on it here and there.

Season Three is the best for me. I just love Stringer and his whole story line. Then the next two were probably my tied second favourites.

Yes yes yes. The Stringer - Barksdale saga was the best storyline of the series.

From what I was reading, if the show were to have gone onto a 6th season it would have shifted things up and started looking at the Latino neighborhoods of Baltimore that were briefly hinted at in seasons 3-4 when Cutty started doing landscaping.

Looking into churches would have been a great concept for a new season though. I read this non-fiction book called Gang Leader for a Day about a sociologist who befriends a gang lieutenant in South Chicago in the '90's and learns a lot about the ins and outs of gang culture, and one thing I learned was just how closely tied gangs can be to churches. I mean there was that scene in season 5 where Proposition Joe was using the church's backroom to have a meeting with Marlo about how to hide money, so you already know the churches in Baltimore have some connection with the gangs, and further developing that would have been really eye-opening to a lot of viewers who do not know of the connection.

I was going to, but other shows took precedent.
