I dont really know how it works, because it doesnt affect the run of every TV show, just certain ones. I dont know if some networks do it more than others, if there are any networks that don't do it at all, or exactly why any of them do it. It has been happening for a number of years now though, yeah.

It may seem annoying but I appreciate them doing it especially for the month of December when people are usually busy and don't have that much time for TV.

The main reason for doing it though is so that networks end the full season during sweeps week. In the past they used to sprinkle repeated shows throughout the season with new episodes to stretch over that time period. I rather have a mid season finale than to have little gaps spaced out over time.

Still watching Breaking Bad every night; definitely seeing why everyone hates Skylar so much. Nasty bitch.

Derren Brown: The Great Art Robbery (Friday, Channel 4, 9pm)

Quote:
the magus of meticulously staged outrageousness parks his uncanny abilities and puts the spotlight on four lovely pensioners he intends to remould into cold-blooded professional crooks. There's no hypnotism, no enchantments, no brainwashing – just three weeks of hard graft to transform Rachel, Tony, Pauline and Joe from harmless members of ITV3's core demographic into slippery grifters capable of heisting a painting worth a cool £100k.
Should be brilliant, The Heist and The Guilt Trip were both fucking fantastic. Also that one on Trick or Treat where he convinced a woman who was a shit driver that she'd died in a car crash and got a body double to play her, she was stood there looking at herself dead, paramedics just ignoring her ffs .

9pm - 2am tonight.

Bowie night on BBC4.

Various programs, Ziggy Stardust documentary & Five Years sure to be included. Thought Five Years was fantastic & had a lot of stuff in not seen before. Maybe Cracked Actor will be in it too.

Just a heads up for any Bowie fans.

Just watched it. Not as good as The Heist or The Guilt Trip but much better than Hero at 30,000 ft and Apocalypse, one of the best things he's done.
