Offstage (and screen) he's a very cool guy.

Whether he's cool is not the question. The idea is that as an actor he always plays the same annoying and rarely funny character.

He's perfect on that show. Lots of people agree.

Ansari's performance has received notable praise from critics, including Entertainment Weekly naming him one of 2009's "Breakout TV Stars", TV Guide naming him a "Scene Stealer" and Yahoo TV placing him in the number one spot on their list of "TV MVPS".

I liked him on the show before I even knew his name. Just saying that just because you don't dig it doesn't mean a lot of others feel the same way.

I'm aware of that. He has more than one standup special so I figured some people were duped into becoming fans .

I feel the same way. It built up so much personality for the first half of the season and then gradually started losing momentum once they started solving the case, ultimately flopping on the final episode for me. I'd re-watch it just for the first half, though.

McConaughey's "revelation" at the very end was especially cringeworthy.

Thought that the new season of Maron was faaaaar better than the first, which I still really liked. Maron goes in a more unique direction with this season and it comes off as more his vision than a Louie ripoff. Check it out of you'ven't yet, it's on Netflix.
