Black Mirror Season Five Thoughts

Striking Vipers - Kinda interesting premise that isn't explored and the central conflict boils down to a homophobic identity crisis.

Smithereens - Insanely anticlimactic and stupid. A couple of interesting plot points surrounding privacy and social media I guess.

Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too - Easily the standout of this season. Interesting stuff about celebrity identity and AI sentience but this episode's mainly just a fun adventure tale. In the context of this season, I really enjoyed it.

Probably my least favourite Black Mirror season to date. Only three episodes and all of them have very little to go off of. The episodes don't really focus on the repercussions of technology like past seasons have, instead they just tie technology into plots that wouldn't be much different without the technological component.

Haven't bothered with the new Black Mirror but from what I've heard, that's not a huge issue.

Someone relinquished their HBO password to me and Game of Thrones has successfully lived up to the hype. Will probably be starting True Detective soon. What else is good? I've already seen The Wire, The Iceman Interviews, and The Sopranos.

Rome is pretty ****ing sick and you need to see it. But seriously season 1 of True Detective is something within literally the past hour I rewatched the first episode of and it's still my number 1 rewatch thing at least once a year. Matthew McConaughey in True Detective is quite possibly my favorite character in any show ever. I'm sure you'll understand why.
