I should mention Requiem for A Dream.

It was underrated at first, but then it gained a hugh following and became overrated, but now everybody hates it even though it's still an excellent film, so it's underrated again.

I do hate when that kinda thing happens.

What a strange, strange film. I've seen it a couple of times and still don't know what to think of it. Same director as Waking Life, right?

Indeed it is.

I'm feeling lazy tonight but I'm going to have to go with Equilibrium, a very underrated sci-fi action movie.

This is interesting because it will mete out all the personal favourites and hopefully some crap I can laugh at. Like Requiem For A Dream... I can see how it's reputation got to snowballing in the first place and it wasn't CRAP, but it just seemed crass and preachy compared to say.. Trainspotting

A Cock And Bull Story (2005)

Not critically underrated at all but definitely one of the few great British films of recent times and they are always worth a note these days, being that they're so thin on the ground. Very clever, complex and frequently hilarious comedy. Yes, Steve Coogan actually made a good film that lived up to his television work, and it was this.

I agree, that film made me wish marlon wayans would do more serious roles.

Can you clarify if you mean underrated as in the reviews were too negative? or it didn't gain the success it should have?

Cinderella Man comes to my head immediately.

You know, on DDD they had this stupid tournament, worst actor/actress tourney.

Renee Zelwegger was in it, and she beat out Chris Kattan just because the the voters didn't find her sexually attractive.

I repeat, Renee Zelwegger, one of the most talented actresses we have right now, beat out Corky f*cking Romano in a worst actor tournament just because nobody wants to f*ck her.

So yeah, that enraged me so much that I decided I'm not gonna be a regular on that forum anymore. Too many dumbf*cks, it's turning into 4chan.

I felt the same way. I remember I read Trainspotting and Requiem For A Dream in the same summer when I was 16 and while I enjoyed Requiem for a Dream, I thought Trainspotting did a better job at saying "drugs r bad!1!!!11". I felt that Requiem got far too preacy at times and lacked the black humour that Trainspotting was oozing out of every pore. I can't say that I've really enjoyed anything else written by Selby Jr. especially Last Exit To Brooklyn which just reading was like pulling ****ing teeth.
