I made a thread for Lost fans to discuss the weekly episodes and overall mythology of the television serial.

We are discussing SPOILERS here, so before entering make sure that you have seen the latest episode. Since it's an American show, most likely things will be updated based on the American time slots.

I was bummed out today, I thought we had a new episode coming this week :(

F*ck that...I was really ready to watch a new episode today.

Yeah even by recap standards this was pretty lame. Next week looks good though... although I'm really dreading having to move out of Dharmaville. Why can't the survivors ever find a nice, comfortable place to live and STAY THERE? And for that matter, where the bloody hell are Rose and Bernard?!

I love Lost. but a beef I have with the show is how they introduce new characters and kill them off as soon as they get really interesting.

Miles and Daniel have become very interesting characters and I hope they don't fall victim to this cliche of introducing new faces just to kill them off once you get to know them.

I got worried when Miles was wearing a red shirt a couple of episodes back.

I got pissed when the ginger chick died. A had a celeb crush on her.

So what exactly is Jacob? Can someone explain to me? Like a spirit, idea, etc?

I loved the first season of this show, however halfway through the second season it just seemed so utterly pointless so I stopped watching it.

^Then go away. :P

I had a thought that maybe he's somebody we've known all along, somehow trapped in the past or something...

Another theory: Adam and Eve = Jack and Kate. Thoughts?

I'm starting to get a bit bored of them being stuck in the Dharma Initiative in 1977. It seems like they've been dragging this on for weeks now. They just don't seem to be going anywhere with it. It just seems to be background information more than anything.

I was hoping that when they announced they had a definite timetable for wrapping up the show it would start to get more tightly plotted & faster moving but that doesn't seem to be the case.

I'm quite enjoying the stay in Dharmavillie... probably because I've been fascinated with it since Season 2. And since I relate a bit with the characters I know I would like to stay in a nice comfortable house instead of a nasty sweaty jungle... But yeah, from the previews it looks like next week you'll get your wish.

And I have a feeling this time travel thing won't be over for a while... what with Daniel coming back.

I beg to differ. I feel it's certainly going to go somewhere and we'll probably learn more about The Others than ever before. And Dharma too.

Not to mention, what's gonna happen to Sayid? Is Desmond gonna return? And what has Daniel been up to? I expect some interesting answers to these questions and also this whole "what lies in the shadow of the satue" thing.

Well Daniel's goal is obvious, he's coming to tell baby Charlotte not to come to this Island.

But then why can no one see him?

and nah, Lost isn't THAT symbolic.

I think he probably already did that... about three years ago before he left on the sub.

And Adam and Eve aren't symbolic, they are the nicknames of the two skelitons Jack and Kate found in the Caves way back in season 1.

I've been loving this season of LOST. I feel like we're actually learning something finally. So yeah, I guess you could say I'm obsessed with this show

Few things that have been on my mind lately:
Did anyone notice that the guy who asked Myles about the "shadow of the statue" crashed on the plane with Locke, Ben, Sun and Lapidus?

Also, the whole Daniel thing is extremely confusing. First of all, what happened to the 2006 (or whatever year it was) version of him when they initially went back to 1974? He was with Sawyer, Myles, and Juliet when they got flashed back so shouldn't he still be kicking around with them? Secondly, how does this 1977 Daniel who just arrived on the sub even know who Myles is? They still have another 30 years until they meet.... confusing.

Daniel did go back with Sawyer, Miles and Juliet. He probably left on the sub some time after that and three years later he returns. nothing too confusing about that.

Yeah you should definetely see those episodes. Essential watching!

Daniel already knew about time travel long before he was on the island because of all his experiments at Oxford & his encounter with Desmond in 1996. And it was his mother that got them to the island.

Maybe it's possible that he's been there before.

I don't think it's that simple. If he left on the sub did he go back to 2006 or was it still 1977? Also, we know that Daniel has been there before because remember in the season premier of this season we saw Daniel working in some cave with a hard hat in Dharma. The Daniel situation is probably the thing that has been confusing me the most lately.

It's more simple than you are making it.

The flash we saw of Daniel at the beginning of the Season was in the same time peroid (1977) as Sawyer, Juliet and Miles. The Orchid was under construction in that flash (which likely took place shortly after they moved in with the Dharma folk) as it was still under construction three years later. So we know it's around the same time (ie It is the same 1977 that everybody else was in).

Daniel left on the sub shortly afterwards (probably still in 1977), went onto the mainland (but the year was still the 1970's) and then returned.

This indeed shows that it was not the Island which was skipping back and forth through time, but the survivors.

Wednesday (and for a breif time Thursday) has always been the most holy at my house. Nothing better than eating pizza pockets, drinking a rootbeer and watching Lost :)

NZ probably won't get the current Lost ep until next year. :laughing:

They killed Daniel off. That pisses me off so much. How do they expect us to warm up to the newer characters if they keep f*cking killing them off?

And if the series finale ends with them actually preventing the "incident" and thus undoing EVERYTHING that has happened, it will offically be the lamest anticlimactic ending in TV history.
