Not really to me. I actually thought the ending was happy in a way, but I could see how it could be interpreted as sad. Definitely see it if you get the chance, it's interesting and while I feel it could be better, it's certainly not bad.

I'm actually amazed at how mixed the reviews are. Some people thought it was awful, but a lot of critics loved it. I'm pretty much in the middle

It's not nearly as melodramatic as some of the reviews are making it out to be (unless you're under the age of like, 5) and quite honestly it was pretty boring and drawn out between the few scenes of actual conflict. I liked it for what it was worth, but was still a little disappointed. This is the best description I've come across "I wouldn't necessarily call it a kid movie, but rather a movie about being a kid."

For me, it seemed stuck between the two, not aimed at children, but not completely aimed at adults either.

Still want to see "Where the Wild Things Are" if for no other reason than the visuals.

Zombieland was tops, though.
