I realize everyone's eyes are different, but the 3D glasses aren't lenses. They're essentially sheets of tinted plastic to focus the movie.
Yeah but your eyes have to work together to bring the image together, so if you have a prescription in which each eye is performing a different task the 3D won't work.

I don't get it. I understand why Jackhammer wouldn't be able to experience the 3d with little to no depth perception, but if you have glasses or lenses that correct your vision, aren't you able to see normally?

If you just have normal lenses to correct your vision then yes, you can see normally. But if one lens is purely for close-up vision, and you can't see far away with that lens, and the other lens is purely for distance vision, and you can't see close-up, then you suffer from the same lack of depth perception. I don't have normal lenses I have lenses like this because I am both short-sighted and long-sighted.

So I watched it and was very impressed, this is the first time 3D felt less like a gimmick and more like something that genuinely enhanced the experience. The effects are a lot more mindblowing to see on the big screen and in 3D, it's absolutely incredible and you're making a huuuuuge mistake if you wait for it to come out on DVD.

The plot is your standard Pocahontas story but it's very well done for that kind of thing, though it gets pretty predictable. Nontheless, an awesome movie, it's great to see Cameron back on top and prove the cynics wrong, again.

As for the 3D, it didn't hurt my eyes at all, even though I wore the 3D glasses over my own glasses, I can't see very well without them. I think these 3D glasses should be mandatory for every 3D movie for now on. No more of that red and blue bullsh*t.

3D glasses come in a different form than red and blue? I never knew that.

Yes, these glasses are more like sunglasses, they make everything a little darker but just a little, other than that it doesn't obscure the colors at all, which has always been my biggest complaint about 3D glasses, I don't care if stuff is popping out at me if everything is red and blue, that just ruins the visuals for me.

Clever. I've never heard of those. I was speaking to my cousin today, and he was saying that it's really believable, and that it's almost as if you're there with them. He kinda persuaded me that it wasn't a **** movie. I might go see it!

I saw it at home and it was a cam version, which means bad quality.
I still liked it.
It was a fun watch.

I seen't it, in 3D, and it's safe to say the visual effects were definitely the most appealing aspect of the film. I enjoyed it but the acting seemed shotty at times and it ran a bit long, although I don't see why some reviews say the second half isn't as eventful or just as watchable as the first.. probably the sparkly motion capture effect wearing off on the crowd.

Yeah, this. I was really too wrapped up looking at all the cool plants and creatures to care much about the corny/predictable points of the script. The effects were really, really amazing. Groundbreaking, for sure.
