Who's going to see Avatar?

I went to see it tonight, there was not a place left.

All my friends are going batso over this movie, a few of them have been to see it 3 or 4 times, and one of them dropped 60 bucks for an original movie poster in-frame (i just rolled my eyes at that one lol). Anyway, I haven't heard ANY bad reviews, which is really suprising considering I have a wide variety of people in my friend groups. Unfourtunitely my town has only one ****ty-ass theater so idk if i'll get the best effects that i would otherwise.

Strangely enough, i haven't seen ANY previews for this movie...i didn't even know about it until i got my ear talked off after it opened.... *sigh* I almost feel *obligated* to see this thing...

There's some stupid ass McDonalds ads spoiling some of the cooler scenes of the movie, avoid them.

We're trying to get tickets for about 2 weeks now, no places, nowhere.
Un-****ing-believable. Never imagined something like that could actually happen with a film that was supposed to be mediocre plus

But I can't review it yet!

Can someone explain why this movie is so wildly popular? Even before it hit theaters it seemed very anticipated. Is because it's James Cameron or is it something more?

I think it's because Cameron reportedly spent 15 years making it... that gets people excited.

I'll probably see it, but it's not at the top of my list to see. i'd rather see 9.

9 was pretty good, though I didn't particularly care for the end. I enjoyed Avatar much, much more. Visually it was pretty spectacular, either in 3D or 2D. And as far as people ragging on the story for being done already...I say whats wrong with retelling a story if you can do it in a way that's fresh and appealing? But that's just my two cents...

The same stuff happened also with Ice Age 3-D, but I guess this time there's an extra reason: The 3D being actually good.
