We should have directed that movie, not fucking Cameron... taking out the cross-species weird nature-sex... what was he thinking.

My favorite part: "MACRO SHOT -- The tendrils INTERTWINE with gentle undulations."

Lol, I'm very glad Cameron had the good sense to leave that part out.

I mean, imagine what that scene would have implied. It would mean that all of those creatures were getting the f*cking sh*t raped out of them.

I think it would have added some more depth to the story for sure

Eh, it'll probably show up as bonus content on the DVD or something.

Besides, I was talking about from a technical perspective. The cameras they developed for this movie are going to be revolutionary.
I understand why people dislike Avatar but yeah I feel a lot of people are just total snobs who flat out refuse to give any mainstream Hollywood movie credit.

Hollywood does it's fair share of crap, no question, but I'm a fan of American films first and foremost, including a lot of older Hollywood films. I have a great appreciation for indie too though.

But with that being said, I think John Cassavetes is a terrible director, his work just reeks of the stuff film students are tortured into watching at film school. His son is better and that guy's crowning achievement is The Notebook.

Then please, please don't do what you said you wanted to do earlier and get involved in filmmaking.

Retraction

I was getting him confused with another filmmaker. I haven't seen a whole lot of his work.

Besides that, I really don't think my opinion of any one filmaker should have that much of a bearing on what I do in film myself. Besides learning from his techniques or whatever, why does whether or not I like his movies effect anything?
