I didn't know that he'd written anything other than A Confederacy of Dunces. That's quite the career for a writer who wasn't even discovered until years after he'd committed suicide.

If it's half as good as A Confederacy..., then it should be great reading.

And here I am, hoping so too! I might not even judge it and draw comparisons with Confederacy as this was written by the then 16-year-old toole and so, might be quite different but still good in its own right.

If I may ask, what would be the top 5 novels you'd recommend to anyone? Maybe there's a lot I'm missing out on, since this Amazon's "Customers Who Bought This Item Also Bought" thing gets boring after a while, and I'd gladly take recommendations from here!

Kurt Vonnegut... he wrote Harrison Burgeron (or something). Weird book.

Calling all feminists:

I've read half so far, I'm quite enjoying it, however there are extreme parts that I don't care for such as the author reemphasizing her disgust for the entire race of men.

Of those two, I've only read 'Dorian Gray'. It was a very gay book.
