I don't think people should judge Pattinson because of the whole ****ty Twilight saga thing. People get too caught up in just single works of actors and forget that they have and are capable of playing other roles.... having said that though I haven't seen Pattinson in anything other than Twilight and Harry Potter... is he any good at anything else?

like it or not, Pattinson WILL be compared to Twilight for the rest of his days unless he manages to accomplish something monumental. on the same level of Tom Hanks playing a lawyer dying from AIDS in Philadelphia, or Jim Carrey in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

until then anything and everything he touches will be tainted by Twilight.

I can't see him breaking away from that and establishing himself as a proper actor.. People who were tainted with a stereotype manage to break away with a great performance. I just don't think he has the talent to do that. I reckon this is just a rumour, if he stars in it then I wish him the best of luck to not butcher one of my favourite rock stars.

I dont see the big hype about hating robert pattinson in general, he didnt ask to be loved by every 12yr old girl on the planet, he didnt ask to be trashed after twilight, he didnt ask for any of it. give the guy a break. hes clearly a decent actor. its really petty and really annoys me. everyone has had a bad film. you may all think twilight is the bad film. I dont, i like twilight, and no im NOT in love with edward or jacob. get over it. its only a film, and if a film spoils your image of a music artist, well thats stupid isnt it

He seems absolutely shite. He took the roll of Edward. Which is enough for me, anyone with any ambition to be a serious and respected actor would read the script and say

no thanks. He might surprise everyone and break out of his stereotype of being a 12 year old magnet, but everyone who loves/likes/respects Kurt/Nirvana wouldn't want that man trying to portray him. Like I said, if he does get the roll.. I wish him the best of luck not to butcher one of my favourite stars.

I think that's how most people feel, please God no but if it's true then good luck, I hope you do it justice.

I completely understand why you would think "ah shytey role, im not doing this" but at the end of the day, how much money does eddie have in the bank because his "shytey role"? a lot. a realllllll lot of money. I can't see how he would butcher kurt, he's an actor. He can't muck anything up, he just does as he's told and adds a little character i guess. Thats my opinion anyway. As you said, I hope he breaks the mould, its a little unfortunate everyone is overly pessimistic about his acting abilitys, a little insulting to him as well i guess.
