TNA iMPACT! RESULTS 8/26

Bischoff is backstage with Dixie backstage and he is trying to stop her from going to the ring for something. JB introduces her and she makes her way to the ring (accompanied by her crappy Evanescence-like entrance music.) She says TNA has become stronger and unified through the hard times, and here they are eight years later having more success than ever. She made a vow to never let anyone or anything hurt this company, and she calls out Ric Flair because she has something to say.

Flair comes right out and makes SoCal Val open the ropes for him, then takes his glasses off and eyes up Dixie. Flair says she is drop dead gorgeous, and tells her they should go back to the hotel and resolve this like two grown adults. She says she was excited when Flair came to TNA, and he would be a mentor and a leader, but he has failed at that, and Bischoff and Hogan were right about him. She calls his actions dispicable and cowardly, and she won't play favorites, and he is suspended for 90 days without pay. He says he won't make it any more personal, but asks if she is suspending Fourtune with him, because Flair and Fourtune are the same. He calls them out to the ring and he tells Dixie they are some of the greatest wrestlers he has seen, but she cuts him off and reminds him these guys were in TNA before Flair showed up.

Flair gets pissed off and takes off his jacket and asks if she said he'll be sitting on the sidelines while Fourtune does great things. He approaches Dixie and her husband jumps in the ring until they restrain him, then Hogan comes out with Anderson, Angle, Pope, and Hardy. Hogan gets in the ring and tells Flair the smart thing is to listen, and he is overriding Flair's suspension, and says it would be way too easy. If Flair tried pissing Hogan off, he did it, and he says his guys are the real show. Flair disagrees, and says Abyss was right, "They" are here, and they will fight on his terms. Hogan says since Beer Money is busy tonight, Flair's other four guys will take on Hogan's guys tonight. Flair flips out and leaves with Fourtune but get jumped on the ramp by EV2.0 and they all brawl into a commercial break.

The final four are in the back and Angle says they are all chasing the title, and he put his life and career on the line chasing it, but tonight they will all get together and kick Fourtune's asses.

#1 - Orlando Jordan vs Samoa Joe

Joe beats the crap out of OJ in the corner then hits a backsplash and heel kick in the corner. He puts OJ in a sleeper until a ref break then OJ goes on offense and keeps Joe down with an elbow off the ropes. OJ takes his glove off and punches Joe on the turnbuckle, but Joe hits him with an inverted atomic drop and a T-Bone suplex, then sets OJ on the top turnbuckle. Joe hits the Muscle Buster and this one is over.

Winner - Samoa Joe

Jeff Jarrett comes out and Joe looks like he is ready to fight him. Jarrett says it has been five years since Joe came to TNA, and he has come a long way in that time. Jarrett says he is asking for a favor, because he isn't owed any, but he wants Joe to be in his corner tonight to keep Sting out of it.

Jarrett says Sting and Nash are trying to ruin things and they are selfish and greedy, and they are pissed they aren't top dogs anymore. He asks Joe if he will take care of Sting, and says deal or no deal? Joe says he doesn't choose sides because he doesn't have to, and he only knows how to play for one team, his own. Joe drops the mic and leaves the ring as Kevin Nash makes his way to the ring.

#2 - Jeff Jarrett vs Kevin Nash

Nash grabs a chair then pulls Jarrett out of the ring and slams his head into the apron. He whips Jarrett into the barricade and throws him into the steel steps before rolling Jarrett back into the ring. Nash drops him with right hands then hits repeated knees to the midsection in the corner. Nash chokes Jarrett with his boot then grabs the chair but the ref takes it away, and he rips the turnbuckle pad off while the ref is getting rid of the chair.

Nash tries to hit Snake Eyes but Jarrett slides behind him and shoves Nash into the exposed corner and fights back with right hands. Jarrett goes to the middle turnbuckle and hits a forearm smash, then tries another but Nash catches his on the way down. He throws Jarrett into the exposed corner and chokeslams him, but Jarrett kicks out at two.

Jarrett locks in a sleeper off the ropes, but Nash backs into the exposed turnbuckle but knocks out the ref, who was standing in the way. Jarrett hits the Stroke there is no one to make a count, and Sting comes out and takes out Jarrett with a bat. Nash rolls over and makes the cover, and the ref slowly counts to three.

Sting gets in after the bell and picks up Jarrett, but Bischoff comes out to interrupt. He says Sting is pond scum and this is how far he has fallen. Sting screams for Hogan, but Bischoff asks if that is what he really wants, and says sometimes you get what you want. Hogan is standing behind Sting and lays him out with a chair then checks on Jarrett as Sting and Nash take off.

Winner - Kevin Nash

#3 - FBI vs Beer Money

Beer Money attack as they get in and double team slam Guido, then Storm chokes him with his shirt and Roode kicks him in the face. Roode keeps Tony out of the ring then hits a full nelson slam on Guido. Guido kicks Roode away and makes the tag, but Tony gets hit with a spinebuster. They hit the DWI on Tony and Storm makes the pin.

After the match the continue the attack and Storm smashes the beer bottle over Guido's head and hits the Last Call on Tony. They run some of the broken glass across Guido's head, then hit him with the DWI.

Winners - Beer Money

Angelina and Velvet have reunited and make their way to the ring together, and Angelina says she has made mistakes, but they learn from it, and she thinks they had a good friendship. When they split, she felt something was missing, and they should forgive and forget, and move on. Velvet says they should pick up where they left off, and dominate the Knockouts Division, and take care of the monster they created, Madison Rayne.

Madison comes out with the motorcycle woman, and they get in the ring and Madison says she would barf in the ring if she wasn't such a lady. Madison is suing the two of them for copyright infringement for using her music, and they will never be called the Beautiful People again. She says she is the only beautiful one in the ring, and calls Angelina and Velvet silicone whores. She reminds Angelina that they brought her in to TNA, and she tells Velvet she has always been Madison's little bitch. They start a catfight and roll around the ring pulling hair until security breaks them up, then they go right back at it before they are separated a second time.

We see a humorous segment of Desmond Wolfe, Brutus Magnus and Chelsea going to the mall. Wolfe and Magnus blow Chelsea off when she wants to shop and eat and they say they have more important things to do. Magnus holds up a credit card and says it's a black card which means no limit and gives it to Chelsea to hold. She gets an idea and smiles (maybe she was laughing at the fact that it was a JCPenney store card haha...)

#4 - Non-Title Match: Generation Me vs Motor City Machine Guns

Sabin hits a shoulder block then Jeremy hits a drop toe hold and goes into a chokehold. He tags in Max then they hit a double hip toss dropkick combo for two. MCMG hits a double dropkick on Max then Shelley kicks him and puts him in a single leg crab. Shelley tries multiple pin attempts but Max kicks out, and he knocks Shelley out of the ring and makes the tag.

Jeremy hits a springboard facebuster for two, and argues with the ref while Max hits a suicide dropkick and Jeremy hits an assisted springboard moonsault to the outside. Jeremy goes up top and Max hits a rolling fireman's carry, but Jeremy lands on Sabin's knees. Max goes up top and jumps on them, and Shelley goes up too and hits a double stomp on Max. The Guns take control and they connect with Skull n Bones to take the win.

After the match, MCMG and Generation Me shake hands and they raise each other's arms as the fans cheer the four of them.

(This was a good match, and although a little short was entertaining, and I hope they give the four of these guys more time together. It started off as a slower pace with some mat moves, but picked it up and had a bunch of high spots towards the finish.)

Winners - Motor City Machine Guns

Flair is backstage flipping out about what happened tonight, and he said he would be the man since day one. He says Angle, Anderson, Pope, Hardy, Dixie... Sting comes up behind him and chokes him with the bat. Sting says Fourtune has a receipt from them, and once they deal with the big problem in TNA, they will come for Flair next.

After a No Surrender promo we see Stevie Richards and Abyss fighting backstage. Stevie is winning the fight until he gets whipped into a bunch of garbage cans, and Abyss kicks away at Stevie on the ground. He asks Stevie if he wants to end up like RVD, and says he will introduce him to Janice. Abyss picks it up and swings at Stevie but he moves, and they start to swing wildly at each other until Stevie throws Abyss against a trailer, and then into a guardrail. Abyss smashes Stevie's head on a table, and tells Stevie to tell the rest of EV2.0 that what happened to RVD will happen to them.

Rhino makes his way out to the ring and he tells Abyss if he is looking for someone to fight then he can come out to the ring right now. Abyss comes through the crowd with Janice and Rhino sets up for a Gore but Abyss hits him with the big boot. They start brawling through the crowd and Abyss throws him into the barricade and they start going up into the bleachers. They get to the Spanish broadast table and Rhino slams Abyss' head on it then they make their way higher. Rhino goes for another Gore and hits it on a platform near the cameras. Rhino limps a bit when he gets up and then leaves Abyss laying on the platform.

#5 - Fourtune vs Mr. Anderson, "The Pope" D'Angelo Dinero, Jeff Hardy & Kurt Angle

Kazarian gets hip tossed and then Anderson tags in Pope. Kazarian tags in AJ and Pope unloads with some high elbows on AJ, but AJ gets Pope into the corner and Fourtune keeps him occupied by quick tagging and keeping him grounded. Pope finally gets up and Morgan lets him tag in Hardy, and Morgan elbows him then shoves Hardy in the corner. Morgan goes to splash him but hardy moves and punches away at him, then takes out Kazarian, AJ and Williams before Morgan knocks him back down again.

Morgan chokes him in the corner and tags in AJ, who hits a knee drop and taunts Angle. Morgan comes back in and hits the rapid elbows in the corner on Hardy, and Morgan hits a suplex and tags in Williams. Fourtune cuts Hardy off from the rest of the ring, and Flair low blows him behind the ref's back.

Hardy finally comes alive and hits Williams with a shoulder block and gets the hot tag to Angle, who lights up Kazarian then hits a belly to belly on AJ. Angle hits a big German suplex on him and goes for the Ankle Lock, but AJ jumps in to break up it and all hell breaks loose as everyone is fighting in the ring and hitting finishers on each other. Pope blindtags in and gets the cover, then argues with Angle after the match.

Winners - Mr. Anderson, "The Pope" D'Angelo Dinero, Jeff Hardy & Kurt Angle

They start shoving each other and Fourtune starts to attack them along with Hardy and Anderson. EV2.0 makes the save and they start brawling with Fourtune all over the place. Sabu hits an Arabian Facebuster through a table on Williams and AJ and Dreamer are fighting by the stage as Impact goes off the air.

Default Why does WWE need TNA to succeed?

Why does WWE need TNA to succeed to itself succeed?

Well, imagine it's the 1960's, the Space Race and specifically, the race to the Moon is a present factor in American culture and politics. The USSR and USA are competing for the one thing that will set them above the rest of the world, putting a man on the Moon. As we all know, Americans Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin will become the very first to walk on the Moon. One has to wonder if this would've ever happened without the competetition of the Soviet Union; like most of you probably will as well, I think we needed them to succeed on some level to succeed ourselves.

This brings me back to my original point. Why does WWE need TNA? If we use our imagination once again, we see the almighty juggernaut WWE as the self-proclaimed greatest country in the world, and it's #1 competition (though it is barely so) is TNA aka the Soviet Union. If TNA becomes something of a threat to WWE, it will force WWE to step up their game and end their reign of nostalgia. WWE will reach their former status only with faced with the possibility of defeat and eventually reach their "Moon".

Now, that said, this is a long-term scenario. It won't happen tomorrow, it won't even happen next year, but 5 years down the line? 10? Who knows? And unfortunately, as far as I can see, TNA will never topple the giant that it WWE, but it's up to TNA to better the whole industry by building the company up to a level that WWE finds to be a hazard to their company.

Thank you for reading.
