Default Recommend me some Gangster flicks

Okay so as you may be able to tell from my recent avatar change I just watched the excellent film The Public Enemy and I would love to see more of that genre. Preferably something Pre-Code.

White Heat is an excellent James Cagney film, I'd recommend that one. If you want anything newer, try 2009's Public Enemies.

Here's another classic Cagney film Angels with Dirty Faces.
Speaking of Public Enemies 2009, in a scene at the theater John Dillinger (Johnny Depp) is watching Manhattan Melodrama with Clark Gable.
Another film about John Dillinger, older one from 1973, Dillinger with Warren Oates.
Also, Bonnie and Clyde with Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway
Once Upon a Time in America (Sergio Leone), maybe you've seen this one.
Miller's Crossing (Coens) with Gabriel Byrne

Awesome, I'll get those too. I've always wanted to see Angels With Dirty Faces actually.

I was gonna recommend it too, but decided against it because I think White Heat is better.

I'm all the sudden gravitating to this gangster and noir stuff. For
Whatever reason I always ignored
Anything pre 1960s.

In my extremely limited knowledge of movies, I'd recommend Reservoir Dogs if you haven't seen it yet. It's not pre-60's and it's not gangster, but it's that "type" of movie I guess and it was very good.

Farewell My lovely
Key Largo
Maltese Falcon
Asphalt Jungle
Detour
Touch Of Evil
The Roaring Twenties
Double Indemnity

Just a few that I really like and all pre 1960.
