The Expendables less than Youth In Revolt? you must be a Cera fan. He annoys the shit out of me. He plays the same character in every single tv show/movie. He's almost like Seth Rogan.

I haven't seen Youth in Revolt but that seems an odd criticism considering that The Expendables was filled with actors who play the same character in every movie.

yeah but The Expendables has action and doesn't focus on the characters as much. The main focus of Expendables is the action and the pure cheese factor of having all of those actors in one movie.

Big 4 coming up at the Oscars.

I've got:
Aronofsky
Portman
Firth
...and going out on a limb and saying Inception beats King's Speech. Dumb limb.

Thom Yorke 02-27-2011 10:17 PM

So I guess the correct answer was The King's Speech.

marveloo 02-27-2011 11:11 PM

I will choose "INCEPTION " and nothing other than inception , it is really great story, and great movie in all of its contents.

Oh, no. I don't like Michael Cera, really at all. I liked Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, just because I kind of thought the premise for that movie was pretty neat. I really didn't like Youth In Revolt, but I almost hated The Expendables. Too much testosterone for me, haha.

I think you could use some more testosterone in your life ;)

but yeah I loved Scott Pilgrim for the plot and the way it was set up. I really hated Ramona's character though and the way it ended.

I did. I was checking the "Last movies" thread and wondering where my post went. I'm sleep deprived, forgiveness please.

Raust 03-01-2011 09:28 AM

Inception, a lot going on in that movie. It's cool that hollywood could successfully make a picture like that. Coming in close second is The Fighter.

Davidphonic 03-07-2011 04:43 AM

Was a little bit disappointed by inception...The Kings Speach was great though, Black Swan was messed up, one scene remains stuck in my mind though (I'm sure you know what I'm referring to here!)

lol I had the best of intentions to see Drive Angry but it's probably going to be a rental now.

viralcrew 03-07-2011 11:27 AM

Glad inception is ahead in our polls. I realize why it didn't win though. Kings Speech was awesome, it had more academy appeal...

But Inception should have gotten art direction too, crazy set design.

Merkaba 03-08-2011 02:09 AM

Oh come on! Machete is the business! Machete is so much business it's gonna influence the world sharemarket for the next 14 years.

Best comedy of 2010:

Mr Sensitive 04-17-2011 02:55 PM

I'm going to vote for Scott Pilgrim. It's not the best film of 2010 but it gets my vote because I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a film so much in the cinema.

Sparky 04-17-2011 08:47 PM

the vegan police were awesome

Haha I love when they all roll out in their cars and they're bouncing down the road.

Black Swan has been on my to see list for a while. You honestly liked it?

There is pretty much no way you can possibly dislike Black Swan. It's beautiful.

I know you were talking specifically to Merkaba but Black Swan is the type of film where some people either love it while others just straight up hate it.

I'm on the opposite side of the fence and lean towards the hate it.

s_k 05-08-2011 04:35 AM

I've only seen The Illusionist and I thought it came nowhere near Les Triplettes the Belleville...

Ilistentomusic 05-08-2011 01:05 PM

I voted the The King's Speech because that was the only movie I saw in that list! Lol. Plus I really did like that movie. Well done.

The King's Speech wasn't that bad. I loved the acting from whatever the lead actor's name is and I believe he deserved the oscar for his versatility and the power behind his words during some scenes.

They honestly gave me chills.

Oh not into Drama?

I usually get into a heavy drama mood and don't mind watching them usually in the fall during oscar season when they are pumping out really quality drama films.
