I've seen his stuff come up on the Ramsay Bolton article and Jon Snow's, but be warned, the website does not contain spoiler warnings so browse at your own risk.

You could really tell last night's episode was written by George R.R. Martin, I don't mean to put down the shows writers, they do a terrific job, but there was just something about last night's episode that really struck a chord with me. It was a dialogue heavy episode, but the dialogue really did add some depth to the characters as well as conveyed relevant plot information. Sansa and Margaery discussing sex was well done and kind of reminded me of that scene from Kids where the group of girls were discussing blowjobs. Osha getting some backstory as to why she fled helped develop her character a little more,
Spoiler for Spoilers for book 5:
and can now mean she and Rickon can bow out of the story like they do in the books
. I think the real standout scene though was Robb and Talisa's bedroom scene that allowed for some gratuitous nudity for fanservice (for both genders) but also let Robb take off his crown and just be a normal guy spending time with his wife. We never really got these little snippets of his life outside of being a king, so that was a nice touch.

Here's a question for people who haven't read the books though, do you know the name of the person torturing Theon?

I know that it's Ramsay Bolton but only because I had to look it up. I haven't read that far in the series yet, and so the whole Theon being tortured bit has been quite confusing. I've been meaning to rewatch previous episodes to see if I just missed something (which is entirely possible), but as of now the torturing seems somewhat random which I'm sure it's not. I don't think I've heard his name spoken once.

So in total, about 2 months to fully read the series. I wouldn't stress trying to remember every character, just the major ones and their relationship to one and other. It gets especially hard in the 3rd and 5th book when the eastern continent opens up and you're introduced to a whole bunch of new characters with very weird names. If you ever get lost though, this website is your friend... and enemy, but you will get to see PoorOldPo's cool paintings on some of the articles.
Aww thanks Pete! I like the fact that you gave me an appropriate time frame. I'm a pretty fast reader, are you? I think because my flatmate has had so much trouble with keeping up with the characters I've been delaying reading it but I've started and it's great! Thanks I'll definitely refer to that website because I know I'll need to be guided for the first time around.

He's credited as "The Boy" on Wikipedia, but if you dig long enough on the IMDB page he is listed as Ramsay Snow. I don't think you have missed anything, he just seems to show up for a few minutes an episode and tortures Theon, then that's it till next week. I have a feeling I know why they've been reluctant to name him, and that has to do with the 9th episode this season.
Spoiler for spoilers for the books:
I am kind of hoping they retire Theon for the next few seasons and let him come back as his character does in the books.

You're welcome. Like I said, don't feel pressured to remember every character, just the important ones. Martin seems to spend a lot of time describing and establishing thug characters like the Kettleblacks, but I honestly can't remember all their names or their relationship to the plot. So long as you know who the main players are you'll be fine.

I think you're right about Theon. He won't appear until season 5 after the tenth episode of season 3.

Honestly, I found that episode pretty disappointing. Maybe it's just because nothing really happened in it or just because I found some parts just plain bad (Osha's and Robb's scenes spring to mind). On the other hand I can now walk up to those people that have spent the past few weeks saying I'm wrong for loving Jaime and laugh in their faces.

This week on Game of Thrones. Theon: "Ohh yeahhhhhh that's amazing. Yeah, that's the spot. Yeah. Oh ye------OH ****. NO. AAAAUUUUGGGHHHGGGHHHHH"

In all seriousness...I'm really beginning to like Jamie. The dude is coming around.
